I am a member of the San Diego Genealogical Society. |
When I'm in a cemetery for a project, I also take photos and info of others there, especially vets.
The best way to let me know about changes for a memorial is to use the Edit button on the memorial. This sends links for the memorial and you. Much easier that way to find everything. And the new edit system makes it even easier.
If I have a memorial of a relative, I will gladly add/change the info, or transfer it over to you, just send an Edit (SAC) with the info.
Please notify me of any mistakes I have made on any memorial so I can fix them.
Sometimes I will post a poor quality picture, but I feel something is better than nothing. If somebody has a better picture posted, I will gladly delete mine.
Thanks, and Happy Graving

Thank you for the information. I have posted the photo on the other memorial, but I have yet to delete the photo from the duplicate. The person who created the duplicate requested the photo so I want to make sure they understand why the photo was deleted. Have you by chance sent a notice to the person who created the duplicate? Thanks again for the information.

'Just to let you know, I found a bunch more Gaughen people at Holy Cross Cemetery. They appear to mostly be in the mausoleum.

In doing genealogy for the Vesco line of my family I found the newspaper article for this persons death. I thought you may want to add the information for future research by other persons.
It is in Date: Saturday, June 28, 1919 Paper: San Diego Union (San Diego, CA) Page: 5
Summary of Article:
Accident happened late afternoon at a crossing three blocks north of La Messa and state highway. The automobile tried to cross tracks ahead of the San Diego and Arizona railway motor train. Vesco died on impact. The driver of car was taken to hospital with skull fracture.
Vesco lived at 1246 K Street and worked for the city water department. He had just obtained a new job on a ranch near El Cajon and was on way to work when accident happened.
Survived by widow Mary and two children aged 3 and 1 1/2

I can't thank you enough for adding this persons record to Find-A-Grave and for posting a photo of his tombstone.
John was the brother of my great grandfather and the only family member to leave Pennsylvania and end up in California. I had never been able to find in what cemetery he was buried but you did. Thanks ever so much!
A fellow genealogist,
Thank you very much for their photos!
Thank you so much for the wonderful photograph! I so appreciate your efforts!

LOL - I found that Greenwood doesn't know much about who is buried there or where they might be. I hope with new owners they might learn to use a computer instead of handwritten cards filed by year. And GPS locations could be off as much as 15 feet in any direction from the map. I really enjoy being part of the volunteers here in San Diego. We make as great team!
