Bio and Links
Several of my family members and other volunteers are working toward posting pictures of all the tombstones in Etowah Co., Alabama. Please fill free to copy these pictures and use them for your personal research and other family history related projects. Our goal is to make it easier for you to find the necessary records you need when compiling your family histories.
Some additional information has been added from family records and other sources, such as "Public Member Trees" on, and may need to be further verified before use.

I have declined two Edit requests you made for this memorial (middle name; two spousal links.) I could not find anything to confirm any of your suggestions. If you have sources, please let me know; use the Edit tab on Mr. Spain's memorial.

Declined Edits
I recently sent edits for you to remove partial names from your memorials, where you had used periods to fill in the missing letters. The FAQs specifically state that punctuation is not to be used.

Memorial Naming Conventions: Non-famous Memorials

If a hyphen or an apostrophe is part of the name, use the punctuation.
Use a period after names where only an initial is known. If the full name is known, use the full name and not the initial.
Do not use any other punctuation within any Name Field.

Please correct these memorials or let me know if you still disagree so that I can forward them to management to be corrected.

Scanned obits
Hello Johnny. I really appreciate the obit you posted on memorial:

Venie Pettit Blackwell

Find A Grave Memorial# 54047027

However, according to Findagrave rules we can not scan obit to the memorials. I have been warned me that if I do, I will be blocked from my memorials and will have my membership closed. I had posted over 5,000 scans and they were all removed by Findagrave. I now rewrite the obits and post to the bio section. I have rewritten the obit you posted and added it. If you will, please remove the scan. In the future if you will send the obit to me via the edit I will post it after I rewrite it to conform to Findagrave rules or you can rewrite it and add the note at the bottom as I do. Again, thanks for the obit and all the info you add, regards.

Thanks Johnny, but I am writing a book now and do not need more memorials just now. When the book is sent to the publisher, I may ask you for the memorials, but not just now.
I know I upset some when I first started posting memorials, and regret I did not read all the do's and don't's beforehand. And I apologize.
