I was born on School Street in Ashland in my grandmother's house as were most of my siblings. My father and all of his siblings were also born there. I lived in Ashland for close to fifty years but now live four miles away in Bridgewater.
I started my genealogy in a 1953 birthday book and have been at it ever since.
One thing I go overboard on has to do with the gravestone inscriptions. I am terribly picky on punctuation and line breaks. Many times these two are incorrect on the stone but I tell it like it is, so to speak. Even magnification of periods and commas is difficult to discern, sometimes due to weathering but I do my best. Yes, the hyphenation of names gripes me too, but I stubbornly adhere to the inscriber's work.
As for the biographies of these folks, I'll cop out with my old caveat. "WHO CAN SAY WHAT THE TRUTH MAY BE, BUT I'LL TELL YOU AS 'TWAS TOLD TO ME."
