|GLENDA EISENHOUR||RE: Higgins|
Thanks for adding my info so quickly. I am not related either. Their son, Dale, worked for us about 25 years.
|Patrick||Elizabeth J Keylon duplicates|
In Santa Ana Cemetery you created three memorials for Elizabeth J Keylon. Could you please delete two of the three so there is only one left?

You're welcome for the photos - please send me a note to my homepage telling me your relationship to the folks you've asked to be transfered to you. I follow Find A Grave rules and will only transfer lineal descendent/ancestors.

No transfer requests will be completed unless sent through the edit function of each individual memorial.

Lindsay Brock (#47166263) is a STEALER of other people's photos. She has STOLEN MANY of the ones I personally went out to cemeteries and photo-ed the entire thing. I have my photos on www.okcemeteries.net for Adair & Delaware counties (Oklahoma).
I am turning her in to Find A Grave for her "hard" efforts in going out and "taking" photos for you...

|Milton A. Stephens||Talihina cemeteries|
I see where you created a memorial for Samuel Hickman who is buried in the "Talihina" cemetery and posted a picture of his military grave marker. His marker shows he was born in 1894 and died in 1994 and would indicate he was 100 years old at time of death.
Did you know there was a "New Talihina City Cemetery" and also an "Old Talihina Cemetery" listed on Find a Grave? I'm not sure about the "Talihina" cemetery???? I created a memorial for Samuel Hickman last year and he is buried in the "Old Talihina Cemetery" I know things get mixed up, especially in birth and death dates for many deceased persons as I have Samuel Hickman's birth date as 9 March 1897, and this was given to me by one of Samuel's daughters a long time ago. I have posted on Samuel Hickman's memorial a biography of his life that he gave to Maud Skinner in 1986 that ran in the Spiro "Graphic". He stated to her that he was 89 years old and his brother Atchison was living in Talihina and was 91 years old. If that is right, then he was born in 1897. Atchison Hickman died on the last day of Dec of that year (1986). I searched the Social Security Index and it says that Atchison Hickman was born on 25 Sep 1894 and died on 31 Dec 1986, and that would make him 2 years older than his brother Samuel who was born in 1897. Samuel Hickman's obituary that ran in the Choctaw paper also said he was 100 years old, but I believe this is in error. I think I'll contact one of the family members and see what they can verify.
I took the liberty to also look at the "Final Rolls of the Choctaw Nation" and found the following:
(Ages are indicated from 1902)
Betsy Hickman, 48, F, 3/4, card #2263, Roll 6562.
Nancy Hickman, 15, F, 5/8, " " " 6563.
Atchison Hickman,8,M, 5/8, " " " 6564.
Samuel Hickman, 6, M, 5/8, " " " 6565.
Betsy Hickman's maiden name was Camp, and her husband was Joshua Hickman. They are buried in the Hill cemetery in Heavener, Ok. But then again dates don't match up just right, as Betsy's headstone says she was born in 1864. If that was the case, then she would have been 38 instead of 48 in 1902 as the Rolls indicate.
And Atchison Hickman's Social Security information say he was born 25 Sep 1894, and died Dec of 1986. His headstone in the "Old Talihina Cemetery" has his birth date as Mar 4, 1895. I guess this is what makes genealogy so interesting --- trying to figure it all out.
We have the same problem with the Folsom cemeteries in LeFlore County, as there are three (3) Folsom cemeteries and 65 names have been added to the "Folsom" cemetery in Pocola, OK. There is actually an "Albert P. Folsom" family cemetery about 3 miles south of Milton, Ok. that contains 9 graves and another Folsom cemetery about 2 miles east of Whitesboro, Ok, all located in LeFlore County. If anyone clicks on to my picture I posted on the Folsom cemetery in Pocola, I've tried to explain the different cemeteries and just where they are located. There is only about 23 actual gravestones that are identified in the cemetery at Pocola, which is on private land as is the "Page" cemetery and a great number of my Hickman relatives are buried in both cemeteries.
I better quit for now. Didn't intend to write a book.
Have a nice day. Tis early in the morning.
|Milton A. Stephens||RE: Ward|
I've had a little trouble with my computer or I would have answered sooner. Jeremiah Ward is not actually in my family, but his son Jefferson Davis "Jeff" Ward married Helen Hahn who was an older half-sister of my grandmother, Daisy Irene Hahn Ainsworth. Their father Martin Hahn married my great-grandmother Mary Licena Schrimsher after his first wife died. The first wife died in 1876 and Martin Hahn and Daisy married in 1880. So my mother was a 1st cousin of Jeff Ward's children Maud, Freida, Jeff Jr. and Martin, and they were my 1st cousins, once removed.
How are you connected to the Shockley family? Are you also connected with the Ward family?
And where do you fit in with the Bourne's from this area?
I know there is a lot of people in this area that's kin to one another and probably don't even know it because most people I know that's not into genealogy can't tell you who their great grandparents were and some may not know the grandparents. I've found a bunch of cousins right here in Spiro that didn't have any idea I was a cousin to them. Now they know, and we didn't have anything to do with it. It all happened before we were born. Here today and gone tomorrow!!!!!
Regards and have a nice evening, and keep in touch.
