Bio and Links
Bio Photo trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.

Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York's lower Hudson Valley and Washington State's Skagit County.

Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find. I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown.

Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.

I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.

My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed...

RE: Benjamin Bailey
You didn't have to send me Benjamin Bailey! Do you want him back? (A long rainstorm during the night and a nice day today, at long last!) No trees have started changing colors yet, though. Do you miss the Hudson Valley? Will you ever return? Virtual hugs!

Good news!!
What good news!! Definetely he must be SIMEON DEWEY II, with his second wife, Elizabeth Bridgeman, formerly Turner and Seneca (son of his and Hannah Bliss)
Thus a memorial to Simeon II could be created now. What do you think? And I'll be able to link him to the rest of the Deweys.

RE: Contribution
O.K. I'll be glad to get the transfer back.
As to my sources here they go:
1) Photos of Dewey's residences taken from a book I hold: 'Images of America, Hanover, New Hampshire' by Frank J. Barrett jr.

2)Census (www.familysearchpilot/

3)Data - taken from
-Colonial Families of the United States of America, Volume II
-Ahnentafel for Mary Alice Dewey Barden provided by Shryll Behn.(very useful)
-The Records of Town Meetings: History of the Town of Hanover
-Dewey, Louis Marinus: Dewey Genealogy and family History. Westfield, Ma., Dewey Publishing Company, 1898 (MOL)
-From the bend of the little river: a Wilcox book, immigrant ancestors and allied families, with a sketch and the descendents - Part I: The Allied Families, the immigrant ancestors
-Living descendant I get in touch with

4) Newspapers, obituaries and wills
I hope it may help

Pinneo Memorial Photos
May I have your permission to use the photos you have posted to the Pinneo memorials in the Hanover Center Cemetery in Hanover, Grafton County, New Hampshire to my family tree? I use the photos I find for sources for my Pineo/Pinneo family ancestors. I always give credit to the person that added the photo to the memorial.

I appreciate all the work you are doing for Find A Grave.

Could it be possible you would add the phrase:
Additional Bio submitted by Lilian Wheeler HUHN - to Memorial# 85242267?
Thank you for your attention in advance.

RE: Name Transfer
So, immediately IŽll remove the memorial to Simeon II and leave you to put back your memorial to Seneca. Or should I do it for you?
I'm sure I'll find Simeon's grave in the furure. I already found his son Simeon III and provided information to be added to him.
I hope everything will go smoothly now.

Name Transfer
What a surprise I had today!!! They transferred the memorial in question to me (without asking for, yet)
Thus, before starting my work on Simeon II, would you agree if I keep the memorial to Simeon II and you create one for Seneca Dewey? Do you know where he is buried at? I can provide further information on Seneca afterwards, if you please.
Otherwise, let me know if you have another solution to this intricate issue.

RE: Wrong place
Yes, I already sent her a very polite message backing up my point of view with good sources I hold. So far I don't have any reply. And I would hate to create a duplicate....What about if you start telling them how the memorial was originally created for Seneca Dewey and was then changed for a Simeon Dewey bearing incomplete date of birth and wrong date of death. How could they find him on the basis of a wrong information? We'd rather leave them to come to a fair decision, what do you think?
Thank you for your attention

RE: Wrong place
Hi L.G.
I was thinking over about the issue we still have to solve and thought perhaps one should have to send a message to, asking them for assistance and letting them know all about the original creation of this Memorial 66847451. They are very helpful.
