I've been researching my family lines for over 20 years and the thrill hasn't diminished.|
I enjoy taking pics at the cemeterys and submitting them in the hopes that someone will gain more family history and also because so many of the tombstones are fading or have broken thru the years. If any descendant objects to their ancestor being memorialized, please let me know and I'll remove the memorial.
I would like to give away every NON-RELATED memorial to people who have more information to add, so don't hesitate to ask; in your request, please include the memorial number (or a link to it) and your own Find-a-Grave member number.
I'm a photo rescuer - I often find old photos at flea markets and antique shops for a dollar or two with information written on the back of them. I try to find a family researcher to give the photo to or I will look for their findagrave site to add the picture to. If you see a photo and do not beleive that it belongs with the site or person please let me know to remove it. I add the photos to be shared.I can't guarantee who they are but can only go by what someone has taken the time to write on them, so if its not correct information I hope someone will let me know. I like to rescue them from being lost or destroyed, in the hopes that someday someone will find one my of lost photos.
FAMILY NAMES that my husband and I are researching: Livingston,Menke, Wiebler,Rempe,Groene, Rutledge,Bryant, Shawgo, McNew, Portlock, Tischbein, Rankin, Bailey.

I see in your bio that this is a name you are looking into. I knew Mr. Rutledge that had a pretty florist shop on S.E. Hawthorn in Portland, Oregon. I think his first name was George. I lived nearby and would stop to buy flowers for different reasons. He had a stray dog that stayed in his shop and always set out bowls of water for other thirsty critters.

WOW! That's a new one on me. I've sent photos found in antique shops to relatives - if I can find them - which is only twice. How awesome to take the time and trouble to do such a wonderful act of kindness. Hopefully one day family will find her memorial and recognize some of those pictured. Bless you for your sweet and caring spirit.

What a great find. The photo looks correct for this person (it looks like the same person with a photo in the Oregon Library).
Thanks much and Great work!!!

I am asking that you could transfer two memorials over to our family. Richard and Alice Kelly. Memorial numbers are 77725192 and 77725151. My member number is 47717009. Richard is Seth's great Uncle. Richard and Seth's grandmother were brother and sister. I have been working on the Kelly family tree for several years.
Thank you for this consideration in this transfer.

Diane ... I located your photo posted to Thomas SMELSER b. 1838 Hart County, KY ... wife Mary Ann CUBBAGE Smelser b. 1840 Knox County, IL ... and two of their children ... Emma SMELSER b. 1881 Creston, Iowa and Thomas SMELSER b. 1872 Rio, Knox County, IL ... thank you for the recovery and posting of this photo.
Your note mentions other "family photos" ... I'm working this group. They are descendant of the same Hart County, KY group of SMELSER family as I ... different sibling ... same 3rd Great Grandparents ....
Would love to know more about any other photos that were in this group.

Huldah Baldock Severs did have a son Everett but I did not have his wifes maiden name...thanks for that...the Gibsons & White would be an in-law line that I would not be researching...Huldah's mother is Julia Bybee Baldock...I am search all ancestors/descendants of Bybee. Thanks anyway.
Yup. That's gotta be her. The eyebrows are the same. I left it at the top of her memorial page. Hopefully a relative will see it and contact you. Thanks again for your "above and beyond" efforts. Jan
