Bio and Links
Bio Photo 2010, I am in the process of gathering the soldiers of the Civil War 85th ILLinois Infantry Regiment into virtual cemeteries.

Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.

September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.

2012 Virtual Cemetery for victims of the Chatsworth Train Wreck in my list virtual cemeteries.

I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.

Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.

I enjoy taking and posting photos.

Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.

I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.

I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to :)

You're very welcome - thank you for making the original marker - I'm tired! I hope the spelling was okay in the obituary - I reverse letters.

RE: Robert Kimble
There is also a book online through Google Books called "The Life and Times of Fred Kimble" by John N. Davis. The entire book can be read. It does state that his parents were Robert Kimble and Angeline Temple.

Hi Debra,
Thanks so much for sending me the Frank Mandelbaum obituary! With the information it contained, I was able to locate his sister in the same cemetery and add her maiden name. Dee

RE: Re: Sheldons Grove vice Butlersville
My maternal grandma, Mrs Isa Maude Frost (Gegory) Cain (1880-1965), though born in Missouri, was very proud of our connections to the Coons, Carlocks, and other old Illinois families. Her older brother (my granduncle Daniel Dixon Gregory) was a Schuyler County youngster who taught school in Missouri before leaving for West Point as a member of the "Class of 1901". In 1927, following his retirement as an Army Lieutenant Colonel, he (Colonel Gregory) took the family back to West Point to watch their cousin Willard Burton Carlock (1904-1994) graduate. Colonel Carlock is buried in Ohio where he completed a second career as a high school math teacher.... Abraham Carlock (and his sons) would have awed Crockett (who was an East Tennessee Whig) with their military exploits at New Orleans !!
Very happy to meet a cousin with similar interests !
