|I have lived in Western Rockingham County, NC all my life. I love taking pictures and doing family research. I am finding alot of my ancestors in Stokes and Surry Counties in NC and Henry and Patrick Counties in VA. My family lines are Dalton, Shelton, Clark, Joyce, Dunlap, Ball, and Tilley.|

I noticed that you left flowers on the memorial for Edward Collins saying that he was your 3rd great-grandfather. I am a 3rd great-grandson of Edward's sister Frances Collins who married David Holt. It is believed that Hannah Holt and David Holt were siblings. Have you ever done any research on your Holt line? I am very interested in this. I have been trying to figure out who the parents of David Holt and Hannah Holt Collins were. I believe it is possible that Featherston Holt was their father. Edward Collins is listed in the 1810 Stokes County census living right next to Featherston Holt. By 1830 Featherston Holt was living in Lee County, VA and there is a David Holt living right next to him that is the right age to be the David Holt that was married to Frances Collins. Featherston Holt is believed to have died in Hawkins County, TN after 1832 when he applied for a Revolutionary War pension. His pension does not mention who any of his children were.
Just to say hello to Cindi and Timmy, my bestest cousins ever.

Hi, would you be able to tell me the inscription wording on Mary's stone? It is a bit difficult to know from the photo. Mary was a Robertson, married to Granville M. Wall who died in 1859. She's in my husband's Robertson line.
Thanks very much for your help,
Barbara L. Stanford

We are probably related...My great-grandmother was Susan Victoria Dalton DeShazo of Spencer Virginia ...
And I am very distantly related to the Joyces of Stokes County.
My mother was born in Stokes County, but her father was from Spencer... He was Robert Albritton DeShazo... My mother was Lucille Virginia DeShazo Jones..Hope this helps.
I am listed as Debra DeShazo Jones to honor my parents........GBU, Debra

Sorry, It slipped my mind that I am unable to add Joel's father just because I have his memorial. So would you kindly add his father, John Levin Moore, his Find A Grave#91049503 It would be nice to have the option to add the children from their parents even though one may not have the memorial. Thanks again

I believe that Joel H Moore that is buried in the Ellisboro Cemetery is the son of John Moore and Mary Hudson according to the record noted below from Family Search. Joel H Moore is the brother of my great grandmother, Talithia Vashti Moore Preston. Now you can post the DOB:01/24/1887 and the DOD:12/13/1961 dates for him. In any event of changes made to Joel H Moore I will add his father to his memorial via my having the memorial. Thanks for all of the hard work being done on Find A Grave.

Hi, She is my great grandmother! Obviously you are related to the same Tilley ancestry line that I am. We should meet!! You're a descendant of Edmund Tilley, right? Send me a note, anytime :) and I'll send you my email! By the way, thank you SO VERY MUCH for taking and posting this picture of her tombstone. I am indebted to you.
