Apple's Chapel has been my home church all my life except for about 10 years while living in other locations. I am a retired nurse and serve as historian of Apple's Chapel. Welcome one and all to join us for worship.

I started adding memorials from a listing of the cemetery compiled by Norma Gordon. This list is the results of a survey of the cemetery and includes all readable headstones prior to 1982. Any errors will be corrected upon request.
I have reviewed records of funerals in church office from 1987 to current. Also I have been through the cemetery making pictures of head/foot stones. Many markers are unreadable or missing.

References: The Browns of Apple's Chapel by Norma Brown Gordon, 1993; Apple Genealogy--A Genealogical Register of Apple Families Originating in North Carolina by Stephen W. Apple and Karen Booth Apple, 1992; and families of the church. Also funeral records in the church office. The Zimmerman Family History including--Pritchett/Busick/Zimmerman/Huffines/Chrismon. I have started using www.familysearch.org .

RE: Union Ridge Cemeteries
The Union Ridge Cemetery is divided by Union Ridge Rd. with the old burials mostly on one side and the recently departed on the other. At the other side of the intersection is the Union Church of Christ cemetery. I'm not sure if the other one has a name but I have a suspicion that it was once the "Colored" portion of one of those two cemeteries. There are a few of those around here.

RE: findagrave-Union Ridge Church
There's a Union Ridge Church Cemetery right across the street from Union Chapel United Church of Christ. There's actually about 4 cemeteries within sight of each other so it's hard to tell where one starts and one stops!

Hi there!
That would be awesome. Ask him where everyone is buried so that we can connect them.
