Bio Photo I am a retired resident of Clarkston, Michigan. Six grandchildren keep Cindy and I pretty occupied but I'm always up for a ride on a nice day to obtain a photo.

The older stones in that (Haw River) cemetery are badly worn. I may have mis-read the stone or the engraving was way off. I've seen many, many typos or stones that didn't match death certificates around here. If you know the correct date, pass it along and I'll make the edit for you.

I made the maiden name change from Crutchfield to Sumner. Was her 2nd husband George Wolfe?

Benjamin Ruffin "Ruff" Barham
Thank you for sending information for "Ruff" and his wife. I was never able to figure out who they were from the info inscribed. I have updated both memorials.

If you care to manage the memorials or want additional changes made I will be glad to transfer the memorials to you.

Have a blessed day, Brad

Erastus Burt
Hi Ken, Thank you for the photo of Erastus, he was my 3rd great grand uncle. His sister Fanny was my 3x grandmother. I also noticed you posted quite a few photos for the Burt's and I thank you for that as well. There are quite a few of us around who are researching our Burt family lineage and this will help us alot. Blessings to you.

Ken - I see you are working over at Mt Bethel Cemetery. I appreciate the corrections you are sending. I entered the memorials from a transcription when I was living in Hadley Twp. It was my intent to get over to the cemetery for the photos ... but then we moved. Now I'm over in South Lyon and have a whole new area to photograph. Thanks for the corrections and I'm happy to take care of them.

RE: Biking Trips of Late?
2013 has been a really busy travel schedule and at the moment we are finally home from any scheduled trips until June of 2014.

In Jan went to Yosemite to photo nite shots - freezing cold but breath-takingly beautiful - saw a bobcat and a wolf for the first time ever in the park.

April 15 started our medly of trips - 15-day cruise to Hawaii & back from SF, then continued on for another 10-day cruise to Alaska and back from SF by May 20.

Couple of weeks break and then drove to Seattle for a flight to Anchorage on July 15 for a train ride to Denali for a week, returning by bus to Anchorage for flight back to Seattle, followed by a week on brother-in-law/sister-in-law's yacht in Lake Washington for SeaFair first week of August.

Drove back at end of August for wedding and an unscheduled extension of two weeks to bring 3 of husband's kids to visit their grandma for last time as she has terminal cancer. She also got to meet for first time the last 3 of her great grandchildren she has never met. It was both a joyous time and a sad time.

Following that we drove down to Disneyland for a week of 50 year high school reunion and a visit with Mickey to round out our planned vacations for the year.

During our trip to Denali we learned that our cat of 19 years was in bad shape but vet was able to keep him going until we could get home to say our goodbyes to him. This is the cat in the pic on my bio page.

That's our latest. Hope you all had grand fun in Hawaii - our trip was one day stays for 4 islands - saw lots of changes to Honolulu - not necessarily good in my opinion, but I guess it is great for their economy.

Glad to see you are still traveling albeit small ones, but still traveling all the same. Isn't retired life the greatest?
