Bio Photo My name is Mike Daley and I am the great-great grandson of Mose Slaton Nunley. Mose established the Nunley Family Cemetery off of what today is called Airport Road on his land in Iuka, Mississippi around 1900 due to some type of family disagreement regarding the original Carpenter/Nunley Cemetery where his father William Nunley was buried.

My grandmother, Minnie Hilda Bacon was raised by Mose and his third wife Myra Jane until she was approximately six years old. My grandmother's mother, Minnie Alice Nunley Bacon is buried at the Nunley Family Cemetery.

My grandmother first took me to visit this cemetery in 1966 when I was a boy and many times thereafter. At the time I did not appreciate the family history nor legacy that was there but today I understand and have the same strong feelings. She died in 2005 so I am carrying on the tradition of placing flowers on her mother's grave site.

I have taken my son, daughter and granddaughter to the cemetery and hope that they too will understand the importance of our family history.

RE: Pictures
You're welcome. Leafy Cain and my great grandmother Minnie Holt were sisters.

I see you maintain the memorials for James and Leafy Cain.

I added a photo of them to each to of their memorials. Thought you would want to see them.

Thanks Mike. I always try to ask but have found that 99% don't care if I share their photos but then I get a real b... complaining about her photo like no one else ever visits that cemetery.

Have a great day...Robie

I have another challenge for you. :) I have found a brother to my 3rd great grandfather. His DC shows him buried at Chambers Cemetery. I have looked and he doesn't appear to be on Find A Grave. So I thought I would enter him. That is where the problem comes in, there appears to be 3 Chambers Cemetery. His name is Henry C Brasher. He died on April 20, 1917. He was from the Michie area. His wife Francis Louizer Stracenor Brasher died on October 19, 1921, and again DC says Chambers Cemetery. The undertaker appears to be WP Hurley from the Michie area. Any ideas or suggestions on determining which is the correct one, or if they have markers? Any help or ideas you can come up with would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you for the transfer. And, once again, thank you for all of the wonderful work and photos for McNairy County. I truly appreciate it.

Hi Mike, thought since the weather was nicer now that you were about to go on the great Hill Climb?
If you do decide to go, would you consider photographing the Cemetery too. There are no photos of the Cemetery on any of the memorials.

Thanks, would greatly appreciate it.
