|Joanna Cayford||Williams/Hawkins # 38761598 and # 19869237|
Could you please add some links to the Williams and maybe Hawkins entries? Thank you.
George Daniel Williams #19869237 and Luther Paschal Williams #38761598 were two brothers who married two Hawkins sisters (you already have them). Their father was Paschal Davis Williams #121695985, buried with a lot of other relatives in the Davis cemetery on their farm in Highland County, VA. Their mother was Elizabeth S. Radner Williams #121692608, also there.
Missing full siblings from their father's record are:
- Mary Ann Catherine (Kate) Williams #35307022 (1848-1932), m John Hawkins #35306914 (brother of their wives)
- John Samuel Williams (not yet found, 1850-??) m Christena Ludy #96417506 (I transcribed this stone years ago; it reads "Christena Williams Dec'd June 26 1883 Aged 42 yrs. 10 mos. 28 days". Her will is dated April 23, 1883.)
Missing half-siblings, children of their father and Elizabeth C. Good #121379103, are:
- Nancy Jane "Nannie" Williams (1866-after 10-1928), m John Swope
- Susan Belle "Sue" Williams (1872-before 10-1928), m Albert M. Loewenbach
My grandmother, a granddaughter of John Samuel Williams via yet another Hawkins-Williams marriage, wrote in the 1960s short genealogies of the Hawkins and Williams families, from perosnal knowledge and letters from family members. I have been filling in the documentation ever since.
|Joanna Cayford||Mary Margaret Hawkins Williams # 19869204|
Please correct fpr Mary Margaret Hawkins Williams # 19869204 her mother's name and her relationships to her siblings, who are all full siblings. The parents were Benjamin Hawkins and Julia Ann Miley Hawkins. The person given here as her mother was born many years after her father's death, so must be connected to a different Benjamin Hawkins.
Also, two siblings are missing. Sarah (Sally) Hawkins m Jacob Franklin Wampler; her son is Jacob Franklin Wampler # 95359085, although I haven't discovered his parents' graves yet. And Jacob T. Hawkins m Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Wampler is probably # 80257999 in Miller Cemetery, IN (b 2-28-1838).

Oh, P.S. Was wondering if you would mind if my father (Rodney Hodge) met with us also, if he is feeling up to it. He is Rita Swearengin's and Thomas Jefferson Hodge's son and he has done about 15 years worth of research on the Swearengins and is a WEALTH of information but there are bits and pieces he cannot put together that you may be able to help him with. Plus, any old family gossip or cool stories. He is the one who helped me put together all those 20+ something Swearengin siblings. I'm almost positive you could help him fit stuff together with me. Again, I'll send you my cell # if you give me an email address to send it to. I look forward to speaking and meeting with you. If you are on Facebook, look me up:

Hi Kith and Kin! I'm not familiar with the library, but I know where Coalfield Rd. meets Rt. 60 right there at the BBQ place and antiques mall. I'm sure I could find the library if I just turned down Coalfield. I would LOVE to meet and discuss. Give me a little time to gather some family photos and you do the same. Do you know any of the brothers and sisters from Charles' second marriage to Cora? I knew a few and heart a lot about my grandmother's siblings over the years. I'd love to find out more about the Swearengins. Something that I thought was really cool about the Swearengins is that my Dad had a "double first cousin" because Rita Swearengin and her brother Rolland married the Hodge siblings, Thomas (my grandfather) and Margaret Hodge. I really want to learn more about Charles' first batch of babies. Bet it was a hoot around Christmas, having over 20 children. Do you have an email address that I can send you my cell phone number to? Kym Hodge
Hi! I just got your message about you being the grand daughter of Amanda Swearengin. I am the grand daughter of Rita Swearengin, daughter from the second batch of Charles' brood! Yes, we should get together and discuss. I live in Powhatan, about 10 miles from the Chesterfield line. Write me back! :)
