Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have worked on genealogy for a number of years. My family interests are Burnell, Utterback, Taylor, Burkholder, Burton, McColley, White, and Brown. Since retiring, I have become interested in Findagrave and have been working more on my "roots". Cemeteries have always fascinated me and now I have trouble driving by one without taking pictures. I am happy to transfer family, add or link or make corrections. Please do not enter duplicates. Please do not be a "collector" of graves. If you are NOT going to add information, do NOT request a transfer just to have the entry. I find it very important as much information is saved as possible especially photos of the headstones as so many are in poor condition. I love for family to find my entries.

Since I was preoccupied planning his funeral I would appreciate it if you would delete my husbands memorial you added Dec. 20. I would like to add it myself I am quite certain you got the info from the paper. Thanks

RE: Keppel
They filed a demurrer that was sustained. This means that the case against them was dismissed without a trial. Thank you again for all of your great help.

Griffin T. Fletcher #44091998
Griffin Taylor Fletcher was my 3rd great-grandmother's brother. She was Kiturah Ann Fletcher White, #50298934. My grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Esther White O'Neal spent 28 years researching her White family and finally published her red book in 1983 called "White Family and Their Kin." She asked me to continue researching our mutual ancestor, Rev. Martin White, Kitty's husband. I have found much new information she did not find in the days BI (before internet). Griffin and Kiturah's parents were James Fletcher (1780, VA-1841) and Rhoda Ann Griffin Fletcher (b. 1780s). I see you are also interested in researching the White's.

This is awesome. My email is

If you see an obit for their father, Jesse, let me know. He died in Dec 1938 in St Louis. His wife was Dawson, and I think you are the admin on some of her family's Find A Grave. Thanks again! You're the greatest!!

RE: Keppel
You are absolutely amazing! I don't know how to thank you enough. I don't know how to search newspapers.

The lady described is apparently Jennie Keppel, second wife of Rev. Jesse Keppel. He died in St Louis in 1938. Just today I found his first wife (Lavina) in Block 11, Lot 38 of Greenwood Cemetery in Decatur. The wonderful caretaker there looked in his books and found her. He is going to see if Jesse or anyone else is around her. Would you consider making her a Find A Grave? I can if you are too busy.

Jesse & Lavina did indeed have a son who was a realtor in Lincoln County: Jesse (1887-1938). He died 6 months before his dad. I would love anything that you can find!! I'm SOO grateful! Truly!!

If you happen to find the time, could you help be on the look out for the graves of Jesse Keppel and his first wife, Louise (or Lou) Dawson Keppel? They might be at Greenwood, but I can't find them on FAGrave. Jesse passed away in St Louis in Dec 1938, and his dc says that he is buried in Decatur. I am assuming that he and his first wife had a plot or something. Jesse's sister, Ollie, married into the Entler family, which is buried at Greenwood.

I really appreciate any help or advice for my search.

Very best,
Monica Spohn
