I started researching my family when I was still a teenager and was staying with my grandparents during the summer. Our family bible showed 5 generations of names with some dates and siblings of my ancestors. This was work started by my grandmother. I did help a few years while on vacation with them. I loved getting dragged to cemeteries. My first genealogy report listed only 81 names. I now have linked over 4,000 and those are just the ones that I have proven are related. With the help of Find A Grave I can pay my respects to my ancestors that I have found and share their memorials with other family members. And thanks to Find A Grave I have found the wife of one I have been searching for. Her husband, my great grand uncle Larry (Lawrence) Shill still eludes me. So thanks to all of you for making this site so succesful. If I have posted any of your family or research I will be more than happy to transfer them to you.
Washington Morton & Rebecca Schill Hi. If I am correct Washington Morton was my great great great grandfather. I have been trying to research the Morton family for some time now. I would like to go over the Morton/Schill family with you if possible? Please contact me at email@example.com
Lawrence Schell/Shill #5788788 I took pictures, their stones are still standing. The stone for Joseph is broken, but laying flat. I posted pics at subject memorials
re: Lawrence and Elizabeth Shill I took photos of their graves in 2001 and posted them. My big concern is that they are still standing. They are in Lot 130. There are other family members there as well. I just saw the horrific damage done to the stones at Beavertown Cemetery.
I deleted my duplicate memorials as you suggested. I will look for any damage at Lot 130 next time over to Beavertown Cemetery. I was concerned as to damage to Civil War Stones. I made a virtual cemetery that you can check out:
40455079 Mary Jane Ludwick was born 20 May 1812, not the date on the memorial. She was the daughter of Revolutionary War patriot, Joseph Hays. If you look closely at the stone, you will see her death date and age at death. I would appreciate it if you would correct her maiden name and birth date. Thanks so much. Jeanette
Thank you for your work to build information about our family on this site. The Charles and Ida Ayscue family portrait is fantastic. I've never before seen it. I uploaded an earlier photo of the young couple, Charles C. and Ida Ball Ayscue with children Luna and Thomas. I've uploaded other photos of family that I collected back in the 1970's. I am the daughter of Edgar Green "Jake" Ayscue. I started a closed Facebook group for my cousins and I to exchange family genealogy info. Please contact me or send me a friend request if interested to Krista Ayscue or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm sure I must have benefitted from your ancestry.com tree, too. Best wishes.
