|Att: Kansas Genealogists - I have over 450 memorials in Rush County KS that I need to transfer as I am winding down my volunteer work.|
Merged Memorials: In the past year, some people are merging memorials where I have posted grave stone pictures on them and the final result is duplicate pictures. If you see one of these, please let me know and I will delete the excess.
I am starting to go down the alphabet list for Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO to get this done and this project will take some time.
Also, note that some of the merged memorials have a wrong picture on them, also. Folks have already contacted me about this problem. I assure you, that I posted the pictures correctly the first time. One lady told me that this website has a glitch in it as she has experienced the same problem.
Thanks for your understanding.
My family on my Father's side came to Bates County in 1842. My wife's family on her Father's side came to Bates County in 1870. Since 1994, genealogy has been a hobby of mine and a passion to help others seeing the gravestones of their loved ones on this website as many cannot afford to travel here and see them in person. Thus, in order to help burial records be caught up in Bates County and assist our local library in order that they can help seekers,(they use this website quite often), I have worked to completely photograph each cemetery I visit, list the pictures, them post them on said memorials for that particular cemetery. My job is winding down as several others have been diligently taking pictures and posting the. I, and 2 local friends are still going to small cemeteries where nobody is being buried today, documenting the cemetery, and taking pictures of the grave stones for posterity.
PICTURES: Pictures posted on this website are automatically copyrighted. My pictures are free to copy off when you copy off a memorial of your loved one to post in your genealogy book. I just ask that you don't sell them or post on other websites and if you share them, please give me credit for taking it.
Thank you and have fun in your adventure.

|Dolores J. Rush||HI!|
If you want to photograph the White cemetery on a spring Saturday, give me the heads up and we'll meet you there. I've been thinking of coming down and getting the information the library has on Martin and Kiturah and updating your librarians on what I know. Oh, and by the way, some of my family are buried in Oak Hill as well. White, Plummers, Lafollette, etc. The Donovan's, Martin's grandkids, lived in that big 2 story White house that is just across the road from Oak Hill (north side).
|Dolores J. Rush||Kiturah White|
Kiturah White's memorial is now complete #151433064, however, I can't read any of the remaining tombstone photos that I have left to upload. The tombstone's are badly in need of cleaning. Is Mitchell Thomas the fellow that lives across the street from the cemetery or down the road from it?
|Lee Burner||Naria Jane Burner Herrell|
Hi, I think we must be cousins. Enoch George Burner is my gg grandfather. His son Charles Lee Burner (my namesake) is my great grandfather. Harry Enoch Burner is my grandfather and Charles Lee Burner Sr. (should have been CLB II, and me CLB III) is my father.
Anyway, there is a small typo on the website. I believe Rachel Ann Talman (or Tallman) is the correct spelling, not Talwaw.
Thanks for your work on the Burner family gravestones. I live around KC and a few weeks ago visited Oak Hill Cemetery and found most of the key graves for my line of the family.
(Charles) Lee Burner (Jr.)
I believe you posted a picture by mistake on memorial # 35357003.

|Angie Hall||RE: Thanks|
I want to send you a big "Thank you!!!!" for your help in locating the grave of my Gx3 Grandfather, Samuel Hall, Find A Grave Memorial# 126354274. There is no way I would have found the grave on my own.
Although I had called Crescent Hill Cemetery prior to my arrival, they were only able to tell me which section he was in (amongst 500 of "his friends" in that section). Apparently some of the older records were destroyed in a fire so they were unable to provide me the exact location of his grave.
To complicate matters, the writing on his headstone was so worn down, it was basically unreadable. Fortunately thanks to the picture you took of his headstone, I knew the general shape to look for, but honestly it was the names that you provided me of the headstones that were next to him that helped me actually locate his grave. It took me about 20 minutes to find it, but I did find it. However, there is absolutely know no way that I would have found his grave without your help!
Thank you so much Cameron, you are AWESOME!!!!!
