Hello! I've added many of my relatives on this site plus many others of people that I personally knew or was acquainted with at some time. I hope I'm not offending anyone when I add their loved one. And if I have added one of your relatives that you would like to be transferred to you, I will gladly do so. I'm not in this to see how many memorials I can accumulate. I just want to create one in honor of the person who lived. Also, all gravestone pics I add to memorials can be printed off. I do not charge anyone any money for takings the pics. I volunteer my own time when I am available and there is no charge to the requester whatsoever. Findagrave just request these pics to not be scanned/copied & out on other websites, so please adhere to that. When I joined FAG in 2012, FAG did not send me any instructions of what to not put on memorials. Hence, I had some 15 to 20 years of obits (around 300) that I personally knew, was acquainted with, or knew the family in some way & had added them to memorials already started. In the spring of this year I was informed by 2 different ladies that I could not put them on this website. So, I immediately started taking off as many as I could remember. I know I didn't get them all as after putting them on, I donated all of those obits to our local library for them to put in a book. If you feel you need to contact FAG administer because I have violated the rule, please feel free to do so as I feel they can scan my 3400 memorials faster than I can to see if any more of them need to be taken off. What good is this website if you can only get a picture of a tombstone of a relative you are looking for and not any more genealogical info? Newcomers to FAG need to be sent a copy of the regulations regarding the input of memorials on here. In the meantime, I don't feel any regret of already having added over 20,000 photos to FAG in the past 14 months to help people out from traveling all over the place like I had to do when I first started genealogy in 1994. FAG, also, needs a "No Tombstone" symbol so that when you photo a whole cemetery & know beyond the shadow of a doubt that there is no tombstone, it can be posted so that other photo volunteers won't be sent out for nothing.

Hi how did you know my grandmother? I am not happy that my mother had her buried so far away from us, I wanted to say thanks for putting flowers on her grave, I miss her so much and it is hard not being able to visit her grave, I am happy to know that she is visited. Also I was always told that she was adopted into the Huddleston family, do you know this to be true or not? And if you have anything of our family history that would be wonderful. I was also wondering if you knew her first husband? Her second, Grandpa Charles Graham was my mother's dad. I would love to hear from you, I have a facebook look under Janice Flory and my email address is, thanks again for everything.

It's good to read the entire rule for yourself, and not take it for granted that what someone is telling you is true. If in doubt, ask one of the Administrators, that is why they are here. Good luck!

As you can see, the rule states, "If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007"."

The whole rule, which states as follows:
Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

Thank you for letting me know that there was not
a headstone for my relative. Please let me know how you found that he committed suicide?

Hey, you're doing a great job. You care about the memorials and have tried to do the right thing. It's volunteers like yourself that make Find A Grave such a great site for ancestry research.

Thanks for trying... but that is NOT the right memorial. I am looking for the one with the 1975 death date. Not the infant Lowell Jr. Please remove your photo since it isnt the right one. Thanks
