I live in the Fayette County Il. area and weather permitting can take cemetery photos at request. If you are a family member or researcher you may use them for your trees. In turn please pay it forward by doing the same kindness for another if you can.|
Sharing just a small story, working down at the tail of Fayette co. and I saw my first red fox, what a blessing after it finally saw me and ran toward the woods it turned to look at me and pose for a photo.
I think it is wonderful that Find a Grave and Ancestry have teamed up and these links connect with searches. Cemetery records are a great source that we put on the memorials that cannot be found on Ancestry. I get joy out of finding members of families that don't have any records. I do this from the heart and please feel free to use my stone photos for your trees.

Thanks very much for the photos of her marker, I appreciate it. You did an excellent job of shooting straight down at the fallen :-( marker so that the photos are not distorted.
Again, thanks for taking the trouble to make the photographs.

Thanks you for your correction (by removing the mother) of these two memorials. I had sent Addie's obit to another person before the page was transferred to me. I don't know who added the link to her mother. I am continuing to correct memorials in this cemetery as I work my way through the Cherokee Sentinel, and I appreciate any help.

Thank you so much for adding the pictures of Mariah Robinson and her husband, George. They are my Grandparents (several Great). Hopefully the edit you submitted will be completed soon. The funny thing is that just today (June 20th) I was at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City discussing this exact ancestor with the volunteer there. We were trying to figure out if her name was Mariah or Marian for sure. I said out loud that I would go to Vandalia and take pictures of the stones. I just live in Pana. It is such a coincidence that you messaged me about this only hours later.
Thanks so much,

We are on Ancestry under the profile name meganlegg. Our tree is called Clark Pearson Family tree. Most of what we know has been added to these records. I can invite you to view it if you can't automatically see it.
I have asked my mum to send me the photos of George Clark (Nan Sitz's son) so I can upload them. It may take a few weeks. We live in Australia, so we are at a bit of a disadvantage in terms of not being on the spot.
We have also looked into Sarah Ellis/Sitz and the Dawes Commission, but I couldn't establish any link to our Sarah. I think she may have died prior to the 1890s, but I'm not sure. I can't find any records of her past about 1870. Lots of researchers seem to think she may have been Native American, and I think it would make sense for the Sitz family to have that connection somewhere (they certainly did in other branches of the Sitz family).
We also have an Ida Jane Speck on our line - she was a Speck by marriage. Don't know if she is related to your Specks. She has an interesting history, as I think she was born to my ggg grandfather Alexander Clark and Mary Ann Church (who was his wife's sister).
