Like many others, I found Find A Grave while searching for my ancestors. Although I currently live in South Florida, I am Indiana born and raised and will forever be a Hoosier at heart. I visit family in Indiana twice a year and always make time to stop at as many cemeteries as time will allow. (yes, my family thinks I'm a bit strange.)

I hope my efforts will perhaps help someone in their ancestry search. I also hope to help immortalize forgotten folks and some of these great old gravestones before they crumble away forever.

Some of the surnames in my family line are: Pratt, Churchill, Miller, Friend, Cook, Calentine, Strong, Himelick, Veal, Reeves, Swihart, Eaten, Bundy, Overton, Myers, Thomas, Tombaugh, and Shively.

I am also researching my husband's family ancestry including the following surnames: Habermann, Schafer, Tuohy, Kaiser, Davis, Minogue, McGrath, and Shenefield.

Please let me know if you need someone transferred to you. Also, please let me know if I've made any errors in my submissions, and I will correct them as quickly as possible.

Dr. Lyman Brackett gravestone photo
May I have your permission to download the photos of the gravestone of Dr. Lyman Brackett (Memorial# 62025894)?
I would like to upload it into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

Allen and Samantha Daggy

I was so hoping that when I read the names of those in your tree I would see Conner, Daggy, Taylor ... but I did see Tombaugh. Are you related to the famous one? I have to give that man kudos, he rocks in the genealogical world. If you are his relation, thank you ever so much for carrying one his work.

I also want to say how much I appreciate your doing Find A Grave work on Mom's day.

God Bless you and thank you again.

Ruth Chavious gravestone
I did a walk through at the Chain Lake cemetery but did not see Ruth. I did find one for Jacob B & Emma J. Chavious. Please note the spelling. The cemetery appears to be connected to the Chain Lake Baptist Missionary church. I will try to contact the church and see who the sextant is and if they have Ruth in their records. It may be a case where Ruth is buried with parents but with no stone.

P.S. I added a picture of Jacob & Emma stones to their sites.

I want to personally Thank You for this. Although I never met Dennis, I was born after. I live out west for over thirty-five years. However, when we do get back to Indiana, we make sure we visit all the family graves.

Again Thank You ET Freet

Joseph W. Warren
Hi Susan, I would like to add to the memorial you put up for Joseph W. Warren buried at Mount Zion Cem. in 1928. He was born in Athens Co. Ohio and the son of Nehemiah Olney Warren (1799-1883) and Hannah Dewey (1800-1866). Thanks for your help with this.
