|island girl||Ransom James Family|
I am trying to find ancestry information on my 3rd Great-Grandfather, Reuben H James.
I found a evidence that he must be a sibling or perhaps a cousin to Ransom James and was wondering if you had ever come across a Reuben James?
He was born in 1835, was a neighbor to Ransom and Robert James on the 1860 Pierce Co census.
Reuben and Ransom are listed one after the other on a Civil War Muster Roll from Pierce Co with Robert listed on the following page.
I came across your find a grave and family history for Rance but there was not a Reuben listed as a brother.
I only have a written note from long long ago that Reuben's parents were Moses and Fanny James but I can not find any facts for this.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! I am at a dead end! Thank you! Janet
|Charles Griswold||RE: Barnard Family|
Connected through Asahel who married Mary Dean and migrated to Michigan. Asahel is the son of John, son of Samuel, son of Thomas son of John son of Joseph son of Francis. We are in the 2002 CD. Section D.
Had not looked at it foe awhile, but joined the Society of Colonial Wars and am working on a supplemential application under Joseph who was killed during the King William War.
I thought of Walther because after 2002 I found a headstone in MA proving the marriage of Asahel to Mary Dean.
I am glad to have found you,
|Charles Griswold||Barnard Family|
I was shocked to learn that Walther had died. He was a great help to me with my Barnard genealogy and included my branch in his Family CD. I have some new info and was going to give him an up date.
|Shalane Sheley-Cruz||RE: James Purvis, father of Henry|
From statements made by Joe Purvis who was about 10 at the time and attended the funeral. He told this to my mother Sallie (and mother remembered everything):
"James is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Waycross. Grandpa Purvis was carried straight out the church door and into the cemetery, then they turned right, along the fence. [The church has since burnt down.] When they got to the grave it had water in it, so some men jumped over the fence, put down some small pines and laid them in the grave to keep the [wooden] casket out of the water.”
|Shalane Sheley-Cruz||James Purvis, father of Henry|
We know where James is buried (Pleasant Cemetery, Waycross) and approximate date of death (Nov/Dec 1915).
How can I get that info on Henry's grave page as his father?

Hi, Jerry, I was wondering if you are kin to the above Ben James. I think he may be a brother to my GGG Grandfather James James 1796-1838. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Wanda Darnell

Walter Otto Barnard's mother died soon after he was born. Do you know her name? Otto's grandson shared this information.
