|Family names Morgan and Owenby family came from Blairsville Georgia. My branch (DeLong) came from Laurens county South Carolina, Settle in Hall, Gwinnett, Forsyth, Dekalb, Cobb, Fulton, Jones, Bibb and White counties. Some of them went to Mississippi, Texas and Tennessee. |
My Grandmother Delong was a Mincey. She was born in Lumpkin co. Georgia.
I'am also helping my husband trace his side of the Roberson family. Alot of his family is in the Fayetteville, Alabama area.

Can you verify who his parents were? I may be able to help some on the Cobb lineage if I know more.. Thanks.
|Dan Bennett||Cooper and Francses Bennett|
I have photos of Cooper and Frances's Bennett. Cooper is my Great,great Grandfather. I just became interested in genealogy and trying to learn as much as possible about my ancestors.
I would like to pick your brain if you will allow me. I joined Ancestry.Com only to discover a lot of the information is wrong or has never been verified. I did not renew my membership due the amount of frustration it caused.
I hope to hear from you. email@example.com
I live in Cumming, Ga and for several years have been maintaining Cooper's grave site at Hog Mountain Church cemetery.

Clara Mae was my aunt; she and her husband are buried beside her parents in Alta Vista. Could you link her parents---- 68539997 and 68540011 to her memorial? I have already established parental link to her sister(my mother). I have noticed and appreciate the many hours you have spent creating memorials. Thank You, Terri Smith Burnette

I recently discovered findagrave and my husband's memorial was the first one I created 120598861.
I would like to link my mother to her sister (Clara Mae Morgan)and their brother (E Glyn Wilson); all are in Alta Vista. I am unsure how to do this although I read the instructions. I thought I remembered your name; you may remember me-- 'Willie's daughter'. Thank You
|Jeff Pierce||Ruby Delong South|
Hi, Peggy! This is Jeff Pierce at the Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University. While filing some things in our archive that were recently donated by Hall County, I have come across the Marriage License of Hoke Johnson South and Ruby Delong , dated May 8, 1943. It is the original certificate, signed by both bride and groom as well as Rev. C.H. Sewell who, I assumed. performed the ceremony. Do you have any interest in having this document? You may reach me at 770-540-9526.

Hi Peggy .... This may be off subject to Find A Grave but it's all about family and genealogy and why we are all here ... the never ending story ... right!? I was polking aroung this morning and found you had left flowers on George W. and Alma Z. Delong memorials on find a grave .. are they family of yours .... I have discovered they tie into my family. I live in the Dallas/FtWorth area but was born and grew up in Atlanta, GA and the southeast. Family all over the Atlanta area ... Cobb, Fulton, Cherokee, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties. If you are related to George W. Delong then I have some info you may not be aware of because he was married before Alma Z. to another and had two children by which some of my family decends and I do have the right George W. Delong. It would be great to chat ... this all came up from speaking to my first cousin about where her mother was buried when I was talking to her on the phone 2 nights ago who lives Lawrenceville, GA. ... she is the one who decends thru this line .. I am the keeper of the tree and all our family history. Thank you, Gigi

|Jasper Porter||Ref: Name:DeLong|
While searching for info about my grandfather and
grandmother I noted DeLong in your name. They are
buried in Buford in the cemetery just over the railroad tracks.
One of three family names my grandmother (Mary Alice Porter) often talked about was DeLong,
It could have been her maiden name.
In the family plot in Buford my grandfather(Jasper
J. Porter)and my grandmother(Mary Alice Porter)are the only ones with gravestones although my mother
and two sisters are also buried there.
Years ago when my wife and I located the graves
there were FRESH flowers by the gravestones, however it was a brief visit, we never located
any live relatives.
Any info will be greatly appreciated
