Most of these memorials are based on personal research from my family history (birth, death, marriage, military & other records). Other information was taken from grave markers or obituaries that I've discovered over the years. Cannot guarantee the accuracy of all these memorials, but believe most of them to be correct.
Will be glad to make memorial transfers upon request that is if related. Would very much like to hear from you and should you have any additional information and if there are any corrections to be made, please let me know.

|Michael Tyler||Find A Grave Memorial# 133339460|
Carol, yDNA testing has revealed the John Tyler of Hanover county is not the father of the Chowan, North Carolina Tyler line. Rebecca Tyler Allen and John Pavolwich published a lineage which made speculative connections without regard to conflicting facts. Two John Tyler men in two locations simultaneously were confused into one, and their descendants have different unrelated haplotypes.
|Michael Tyler||RE: TYLER line|
Carol, I think I forgot to reply that my line comes from John Tyler and Mary Gardner.
|Michael Tyler||Elizabeth Strother|
Elizabeth Strother (1784-1822) who was the "1st wife" of Benjamin Pendleton appears to be the grand-daughter of Anthony Strother.

Do you have any photos or know the location of the Hancock Family cemetery where Willis Hancock is buried?
I may be able to take and post photos if I locate it.

|Michael Tyler||RE: TYLER - STROTHER - ALLEN|
Lyon Tyler corrected the parents for Henry Tyler. His mother was Margaret Watts and William Strother was the son of William Strother and Margaret Thornton.
|Michael Tyler||Marriage index entry|
There is information stating a John Tyler and Eleanor Strother were married in Stafford County, Virginia in the year 1780 per "U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900, online index at Ancestry.com. The detail information from Ancestry.com concerning the citation is that "this citation was obtained from an individual submission as part of a family group sheet and not part of an official Church or civil record, other than being listed as parents of an individual."
What was the true source of the information included in the index?
I would like to take this conversation off the Find-A-grave message board, please contact me directly.
|Michael Tyler||John and Eleanor marriage|
Carol, I just repeated what has become a part of an Ancestry index. There needs to be some serious research to see if that information is correct. Because of the lack of documentation, the most reliable indicator would be yDNA testing of a lineal male descendant of Thomas Tyler.
|Michael Tyler||Tyler family info|
I went to the VSL and have transcribed the article Tyler-Strother-Allen. John Tyler is only mentioned as being born to Henry and Alice, there is no other mention of him.
I think this would be a perfect instance of yDNA being able to indicate where to look for evidence of connections, if there is a lineal male descendant of Thomas.
One puzzle is someone's information became incorporated into a marriage index at Ancestry. Their info states John Tyler wed Eleanor Strother in the year 1780 in Stafford. I have looked for any extant record corroborating that index entry and have found none. The contact person also found no chancery causes mentioning John Tyler.
PM me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can send the article.
