I enjoy contributing to Find A Grave. It's a great way to create a permanent memorial of our family, friends and loved ones. |
I will be happy to transfer memorials to a family member or friend. If you find mistakes or duplications, please let me know so I can correct them.
God Bless You All,
Please stop by and visit my Dad and leave flowers if you like.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Kathy Johnosn||Correction death date|
I have a copy of the obituary for Atchafayla Gregory Grace, who is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida. The obituary was run in the Gainesville Sun. The actual death date is September 9, 1916. She died at Ocheesee, Florida, in the old Gregory house (now at Torreya State Park, in Liberty County, FL) and her body was taken by train to Gainesville for burial in the Gregory family plot.

Mary Matilda Boston , another sister to our George Whitfield and also Eliza Dorothy boston Dell, also married a Dell. Actually, she (Mary) married the son of Bennett Maxey Dell and his first wife Penelope Love Dell. His name was Phillip Dell. They had three daughters. One is in Newnansville Cemetery and you created her memorial. She is Tallulah Ann Dell Olmsted, 22216473. Her husband's memorial you also created but it is being maintained by someone else. If you would transfer hers to me, I would appreciate it and take good care of it. Thank you.

Recently, Hank Gillette transferred the Boston family memorials in the Newnansville Cemetery to me that you had originated. Thank you for doing so. I have added information on most of them, if you would like to see them.
My husband is a descendant of George Whitfield Boston. George's sister, Eliza Dorothy Boston married Bennett Maxey Dell. Two of their children ae buried with their wives in Evergreen Cemetery, Gainesille, FL. James Maxey Dell #27027215, is one of them that you have established a memorial for. I was wondering if you could transfer it to me to maintain. I have additional family information to add. The other is Col. John Boston Dell, 27027114, but it is being maintained by someone else already.
You also have Eliza B. Williams, who was the daughter of Eliza Dorothy Boston and Bennett Maxey Dell. Her memorial is 22218199. Her husband's memorial is 2218184 and his name is James A. Williams. Their son,James A. Williams is also there, 22218087. George Boston Williams, the Young son of Eliza B. and James is there and his is 2218150.
If you transfer them to me, I will add family information as I have it.
There are only a handful of Boston males left in this line. I am diligently working on documenting old Florida family.
