Bio Photo I transcribe and photograph cemeteries/grave sites because I know there is someone out there who can't make the trip or who doesn't really know where their loved ones resting place may be. My Motto: By Preserving Our Past, We Prepare For The Future!jhh That one transcription or photo CAN make a difference!

This pix is of my baby girl (Toni Stewart), she is named after Tony Stewart of NASCAR.

Thank you so much for the description of the markers for the Handiboes. I've always wanted to go to Savannah to visit the cemetery, or even meet some living Handiboes. A.J. Handiboe, Sr. is my 1st cousin, 2x removed. Karen

RE: Joseph Bennie W. Dowell
He died in Midway so it seems improbable that he would have been taken to the state asylum in Milledgeville for burial as their cemetery was for inmates who died there and were not buried by their families. He died before his wife so this was most probably not a case of his name being added to her stone...he was there before her. I looked in the Savannah burial records and they state he was buried in Savannah at the Cathedral I have to conclude he is in the Catholic cemetery as recorded.

J Joseph
I added a page for a J. Joseph 165322599. I see you have a J. Joseph with no dates but military service listed. I was unable to find any military records for J Joseph, no immigration records etc, that would say your J. Joseph is my J. Joseph. I am almost certain they are the same but I can't be sure. My guy would have been almost 40 when the war ended but that would not have precluded him from service necessarily. Do you have any more info about this guy???? His daughter Louisa Joseph Parks is buried in front of him in the plot. C J S

Ida 'Ider" Bowen Hagans, FAG# 31448656
Yes, Ida's father is the older sibling of my grandfather, Alfred Jackson Bowen, I,

I met a living direct descendant of Ida 'Ider" Bowen Hagins last October. Her name is Mrs. Verona Sauls Crosby. She lives in Statesboro, Georgia. Her bowen lineage is as follows:

Bowen Lineage:

1. Elisha Bowen & Penelope Everett
2. John Hunter Bowen & Susannah Elizabeth Strickland
3. Elisha Jackson Bowen & Senia (Ceaney) E. Anderson (Elisha Jackson & Senia are Verona's Great Grandparents)
4. Ida "Ider" Bowen (b. 22 Feb 1878 - d. 23 Feb 1920) & John E. Hagan - (Ida is Verona's Grandmother) - Both are interred at Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.
5. Minnie Eva Hagans (b. 01 OCT 1901, d. 17 FEB 1972) & Lewis Argo Sauls (b. 09 OCT 1894, d. 06 MAY 1947) (9 children from this marriage). (Married 1st Lewis Argo Sauls, 2nd Elmer Dixon - no children from 2nd marriage, however she was buried in Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, GA as a Dixon).
6. Verona Sauls Dickerson Thompson Crosby (b. 09 NOV 1941, d. Still Living) (Married three times and had one child by each husband) & 1st Clinton Dickerson, 2nd Raymond Thompson, 3rd Willis Eugene Crosby.

Again, thanks. It'll be an honor to to manage these, my GGG Grandparents' Find A Grave memorial record and I'll try to get the manager of these duplicate memorials (#'s 21408883 & 6610514) deleted from the Bethel Brick United Methodist Church Cemetery after all the children relationships are on the Find A Grave records at Lower Lotts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery record where their prominent Memorial is physically located.
