Whitaker memorial Hey Betsy....We are having some problems up here with our Henry W. and Wilson H. gravesites. I think the woman who added Henry W. to the McTyiere Cemetery has them mixed up. Would you look at them both and see what you think? We can't find that "our" Whitaker actually fought....our memorial # that I think is incorrect is 83071991. Thanks!
RE: William Oscar Petty Jr If you have no family connection to my Uncle Oc and Aunt Foye, I'll be happy to take them over. He was a brother to my father. They are both gone now as is everyone else in that generation except my Aunt Dorothy. It is a bit of a sad day when you realize that you are now the oldest generation of your family, on both sides, no less.
RE: Taylor Who are the mother and wife? Only Sr has a stone, at that location. I hope to go back again tomorrow and work on another section in the old part, but if you need something let me know and I can check the old records, which I have a copy of and the guys in the office are wonderful to me in helping me find the graves for the new section. Sure wish I lived closer to that cemetery, because I would certainly be able to get it all finished faster. I was told there are about 11,000 in the cemetery now - new section. But now I have some help to photograph it, so I hope it will go faster. Margaret
Elizabeth Loy Woods 39317333 I came across Elizabeth and wondered if you were related in any way. I'm looking for Loy family members in NC in the early 1800s. There's an Elizabeth in the line I'm working on. looking for parents...If you know anything more please let me know. thanks
RE: Bromley Good Morning, You are very welcome, glad to assist. As you may have noticed, there are 5 additional names on the Bromley stone. If you would like to post memorial sites for them on Find A Grave, I would be happy to upload the photo to their sites also. Please advise. Pat
Gleria and William E. Sipfle There is not a record of Gleria being interred at Homestead. William, however, is there but there's not a permanent headstone yet. I took a photo of the temporary marker and will post it if you want. Otherwise, I'd suggest waiting about 4-6 weeks and then call the office (City grounds and maintenance) at 252-329-4688, they should be able to tell you if a permanent one has been installed. Once there is a perm. stone in place, put in another request. If you decide you want this photo of the temp marker posted, let me know (it can easily be deleted later); otherwise, I'll delete it.
Transfer Hello Again, Thank you so much for transferring my great-great grandfather to me. There weren't many changes to make because you already had so much important information on the memorial. I did add his place of birth and death and middle name. Also I downloaded the lovely photo I had of Barbara's Buttons which has the botanical name of Marshallia Mohrii. Do take a look. I think it is a very beautiful plant.
