My name is Carol and have lived in Georgia all my life. Residing in N.E. Atlanta for many years and grew up in Hapeville, Georgia.|
My Dad began this amazing journey in finding our heritage. While on this journey we had discovered so many relatives and friends.

Most of these memorials are based on personal research from my family history (birth, death, marriage, military & other records). Other information was taken from grave markers or obituaries that I've discovered over the years. Cannot guarantee the accuracy of all these memorials, but believe most of them to be correct.
Will be glad to make memorial transfers upon request that is if related. Would very much like to hear from you and should you have any additional information and if there are any corrections to be made, please let me know.

|Rhonda ||RTM Simmons|
Thank you for adding him on findagrave. corrections: He was 2nd Lieutenant in the 40th AL infantry. Robert Kelly Simmons was a son of RTM and his 3rd wife Mary Elizabeth (Tartt) Simmons. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=simmons&GSiman=1&GScid=60635&GRid=48354704&
You'll find his letters home here http://psysim.www7.50megs.com/rtmsimcsa1.html If you follow the Simmonsport link at the bottom of the previous link you'll find a link to his online tree. RTM and his second wife Mary Catherine "Molly"(Boyd) Simmons are my 2gr-grandparents. I have recently acquired more of his letters to scan and transcribe for Armond to then add to the website and also a picture of him and "Molly". Identified by the 2nd Lieutenant bars on his collar. Armond is a son of Robert Kelly Simmons son of RTM Simmon and Mary Elizabeth (Tartt)
Thanks again for adding him!

I am trying to fill in some blanks on my tree, and I was wondering if you have in your records details on William Hunt being born in Macon, Bibb, Georgia. His mother (Lucinda Kirk Hunt) died in Milledgeville, Baldwin, Georgia in 1836.
Some "trees" out there have Macon County, Georgia but your place of Macon, Bibb makes more sense. I just thought you may have something that puts the Hunts in Macon in 1830. Thanks for the wealth of information you have gathered on your family. I think we have already discussed before we are 3rd cousins through Thomas Goodwin Hunt and Mary Elizabeth Simmons.
|Lynette Murphy||William G. Hunt|
Small world I just left you a message about Mary Lou Mays Dawson of Pulaski County. In looking at the Hunt Cemetery info, I came across William G. Hunt. My grandmother actually has a picture of him and his wife. She had always told me that he was once the sheriff of Pulaski Co. at one time which you matched the story in your bio. I am a decendent on my maternal grandmother's side of the family.

I've just joined this group and discovered that you had entered information on my great grandmother. I'm not sure if some of the info is correct. I will check soon. May I ask where you found the information. Also, there are some other children which need to be linked to her and my great grandfather Thomas Shelton Dawson, Sr. All of their children are deceased. Curious as to how you obtained your information. Any info would be greatly appreciated. My grandfather was their son, John Wesley Dawson, Sr. I will add his info to this database but was unsure how to link him with them. If you had visited the cemetery, you would have seen that my grandfather along with my uncle Thomas, Mary Lou (great grandmother) and Thomas Shelton Dawson, Sr.(great grandfather) are all buried in the same plot.
|Donna Dumas||Joel Hancock's parents !!|
I'm so excited to see Joel's (#32659246) parents listed (Clement and Mary). I had seen rumors before but no documentation or "proof". Would you mind sending me a link for my documentation? This is wonderful.
|Donna Dumas||Henry U Hancock|
So Pleased to hear from you. I will be "digging" around your cemeteries when I get a chance since we are "related".
Henry and Green moved to Columbia Co., AR around 1889 and fathered a lot of my relatives. His daughter Carrie married Albert Sidney Frazier and they (eventually) lived in Frog Level, Columbia County's first court house. This is my husband's direct line. Their daughter Grace (who was born in Frog Level while it was still a working plantation) is his grandmother.
While I would like to keep his memorial, I would love to link him to others.
I have a copy of "Descendants of Joel Hancock, 1792-1869" compiled by Gladys Hancock Evers. Will be glad to share whatever I can.
|Scott Black||Hancock - Spanish Fort|
Hi Georg Girl, yes I descend from Tommie Hancock through his daughter Sarah Josaphine Hancock Cook. Tommie is my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. I am very interested in any "source" info that shows Tommie is the son of Joel Hancock. His name however is Tommie Joseph Hancock rather than Thomas Jackson (as far as I know). I actually wrote a book on this hancock family back in 1994.
I grew up across the Red River from Spanish Fort, the exact spot where Tommie and Bethany Hancock settled in the Chickasaw nation back in 1874. The Hancocks are buried in the "Old" Spanish Fort Cem rather than the regular Spanish Fort Cem.
Very interested in seeing what you have if we can connect Tommie with Joel as you suggest. Please email me at email@example.com with subject HANCOCK FAMILY TREE. Thanks for all your hard work.
|Frances||Georgia Death Certificates|
Do you know how I can get a copy of a d/c for Memorial #83654391 Maxcy C Moorhead? It should be listed as Maxon "Maxcy" John Moorhead. That contributor is EXTREMELY difficult. She will not link Maxcy to his parents or correct his name. He was my double cousin. Thank you for any input.

Seeking to obtain the location of The Harris cemetery to visit.
Your Cemetery notes description states:
The Harris cemetery is located on the land once owned by the Harris family in Wilkes County, Georgia.

|Jamie Holt||RE: William Hunt???|
Thanks! I was wondering because I read what appears to be a transcribed copy of Rev. Robert Hunt's will and he only mentions having Thomas and Elizabeth. No mention of a son named William Hunt.
I am also descended from the Strother family. My line goes back to Susannah Dabney Strother who married Thomas Gaines. They moved to Stokes County, NC and that is where I live. I am also descended from the Taylor family that produced James Madison and Zachary Taylor.
