RE: Benajah and Miles Gardner
I just checked out Aunt France's "Find a Grave". The pictures are very nice! She was quite a nice lady!

How interesting! Frances Dewitt was my great-aunt. My grandmother was her sister Louise Gardner whom married Harold Squier. What type of information on the mill are you looking for?

I can accept PDF files at

I'm converting our images to JPGs. After that I'll upload them to our website and make them available for download. I'll send you the URL.

I haven't uploaded anything to Find-a-Grave. New to the site. I will try to understand howand then hopefully, some of our work will add to info base.

If you send me your email address at the above it will be easier to communicate.

We have been traveling and I'm not sure you got my original reply. First, thank you for offering to share your work. You can send the file to
Also, we have taken numerous photos at the Mt. Marion, NY graveyard where Capt. John L. DeWitt is buried. We did this after cleaning up the area and uncovering some headstones. Let me know if you want any of these photos.

When I re-read my email to you I noticed I forgot to say I would be happy to share all the "photos" of the headstones.

While we were there we actually uncovered several headstones that had fallen over and were buried.

RE: The DeWitt Family

Thank you for your generosity. The family appreciates it. Here's the email address you can use to send the PDF of the DeWitt document.

Several years ago we visited the graveyard where John L. DeWitt is buried, along with many of his relatives. (Anna Marie, Simeon, Clinton...). I would be happy to share those with you, if you're interested.

Thanks again,

The DeWitt Family
My wife, Linda, is a direct descendant of John L. DeWitt. I have been assisting her in researching the family. Last week we came across your work on the DeWitt family at the Kingston Reformed Church in NY State. I found it helpful in our research, but could only spend few hours with it as we were only passing through that area of the country. Is it available on line or in print? I would like to obtain a copy to complete our research on that line of her family.

RE: Martha Valentine Find A Grave
I'll check out those links. I've read the local histories, and got so much info. out of them! I wrote a letter to the family staying at the farm. The website then said that they sold produce and maple syrup. I never heard anything back from them. It would be great if the graves were marked, but they probably were not. My other 5th great grandfather, Major Theodore Woodbridge, lives close (Hamlin Road and 196, if memory serves me right), and was buried on his farm, but the location of the grave has been lost. Thank you again! Christy
