Bio and Links
Bio Photo Paul has been married to the love of his life, Irene, for over 30 years. He and Irene retired after long careers as NASA subcontractors following the final flights of the Space Shuttle fleet. Paul has always had a fascination with genealogy and finally started actively pursuing his ancestors in 2010. His current family tree includes over 4,000 members.

Paul took monks vows in the Soto Zen line in 2006. He is active in the Zen community as well as supporting a active prison ministry and intermittent hospice ministry here in Central Florida.

Travel is a regular occurrence and more often than not, includes a side trip to that out of the way graveyard looking for that one lost cousin….

Paul and Irene live on an island on the coast of Central Florida. (Really!)

Pamela Suddarth Request
I want to give you more of a reason why I'm reporting a problem with her request. I don't believe she is even deceased. The person that made this memorial just read off the transcript of the cemetery. It shows she is the purchaser of the plots in 1991 for their daughter. And then sadly for him in 1998. I've internet searched her, and found several hits that is her. I'm almost positive she is still alive. Of course I'm glad to tell you this. Also I did search for her to be sure. And I only found her husband and daughter. We are photographing this cemetery so I will have walk the whole thing. For once I'm not sorry to give info on a request problem.
Thank you,
Kristy
PS, here's the link to the transcript;

RE: Perry Griffith
I don't need to see the census. I've put a note in the bio section about the obituary and the census. Thanks for the info!

Perry Griffith
Thank you for the SACs for the Griffiths in Fairlawn Burial Park Hutchinson, KS. Perry's obituary indicates he was born in Arkansas. Do you have any documentation to support a birthplace of Missouri?

RE: Mary Boese memorial in Mennonite Cemetery
Hi Paul -

What a small world!! Grand Forks was part of our early years "stomping" grounds. We both attended UND And being ND natives we have spend a fair amount of time in the Minot area. When our children were small and we visited grandparents in NE ND, we often stopped at the Zoo in Minot for a diversion for the kids.

We're in Beach in SW ND - very near the MT border. Both me and my roommate of 45 plus years were born and grew up in ND in the NE part of the state along the Canada, MN border. So we have lived in both edges of ND. Kind of like this SW part better as usually the temp is more moderate and less humidity (USUALLY).

Kind regards,
judy ::)

RE: Mary Boese memorial in Mennonite Cemetery
Paul,

Laughed out loud in pure delight over your answer to my rhetorical question. You do have the gift of words!

I don't live close enough (live in ND) to be able to do a quick trip to take photos of their markers so I have transferred the memorials of Henry and Maria (Mary) Boese/Boes to your care. If you find anything else interesting you can just add or rearrange the information any way you think is the most meaningful to anyone who may be looking for them. You certainly have done a thorough look into their family.

Stay cool! Not a problem here - 29 degrees this am. First killing frost and, I may add, a tad bit early for my taste!

Best wishes,
judy aka High Plains :)

RE: Mary Boese memorial in Mennonite Cemetery
Hi,

Are you related to the Boes/Boese?

I don't know where the graves are located in relation to each other. Maybe you could request photos of their markers and ask if the markers are located next to each other.

I don't know how to proceed - I think you are probably right, but I don't want to change the date of birth on the memorial on Find a Grave as the marker shows such a different date. I could put the explanation in the bio.

And why are the husband and wife's markers last name spelled differently? Rhetorical question. Even though there are several ways to spell the name usually the husband and wife use the same spelling for the last name.

Let me know what you think, please.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

RE: Mary Boese memorial in Mennonite Cemetery
The photos of the grave markers of both Mary Boese and Henry Boes are on Ancestry (family trees) and in case you don't have Ancestry they are on South Dakota Gravestones.org under Turner County, Schartner aka Mennonite Cemetery.

Pretty interesting!

Best wishes, High Plains :)

Mary Boese memorial in Mennonite Cemetery
Hi PJC,

You sent some edits for Mary Boese (some of which are her name is Maria and her maiden name is Unruh). On her grave marker the date of birth is clearly Dec 17, 1865, not October 8, 1848 as you sent as an edit.

So maybe this Mary Boese in not Maria Boese married to Henry Boes (1842-1927) as you indicate in your edit? Could this be a daughter or daughter in law?

Thank you for your answer.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

RE: Kenneth T. Thompson
Thank you very much for the source of Kenneth's middle name. I have accepted your edit and have given you credit on his memorial. Living on an island sounds like a wonderful adventure.
