Mispah or Mizpah (Addison Gibson)
Oh, Mary, I think the term is an old Hebrew Bible term for an agreement between two men with God as their witness. Interesting, huh. Have a nice weekend. = Sandra Lytch

Thanks so very much for the photo of Addison Howard Gibson's gravestone. I sure do appreciate that! Now I'm wondering what the inscription means below his name. Thanks for your help. - Sandra

RE: Albert Hofmeister and son Carl
Yes, I would be interested and could pay any fees, etc., that are applicable. Was thinking about writing the current Principle as well and let her know that I'm compiling a biography on Mr. Gibson. I am sure the students/teachers would enjoy sharing his story. By and large, he wrote stories for children, but some were for adults as well. You can reach me at lytch2@aol.com. Thanks, Mary Bryan!

RE: Albert Hofmeister and son Carl
Thank you so much for your message. Yes, I have been researching the Summit School. This school has a fascinating history. The teachers who were hired had a different approach to teaching. I was so inspired to learn that my cousin taught there and knew Albert and probably his son Carl. Yes, Carl was an amazing man! Also, when you get the chance, there are many articles and poems written by Addison Howard Gibson online. He was a prolific writer. Not sure if his students knew what he was doing. Ha! I plan on writing up a bio for him soon. Maybe I'll even turn it into a book if I find out enough about him. Thanks, Mary.

Albert Hofmeister and son Carl
Hello Mary, Enjoyed reading about Albert's son Carl. I noticed that Carl attended the Ojai Summit School and that his father was instrumental in building it. My cousin Addison Howard Gibson taught there for nine years. He probably taught Carl. I know that Addison Gibson died at the home of Albert Hofmeister in 1929. He is now buried in the Angelus Rosedale Cemetery. I will call them today to find a plot number for him and his mother Rachel Gibson. Anyway, Addison's # is 87175155. He was an amazing writer. Albert Hofmeister is mentioned in Addison's obit. Just thought you would find this to be interesting. Thanks for all that you do. - Sandra Lytch
