I grew up in Illinois but after I got married I moved to Connecticut and then to Massachusetts and now I am back in Illinois.|
My husband started tracking down his relatives and got me thinking about looking up my own.
I think it is great that so many people are adding names to this site to help preserve history.
If you find that I have added a relative of yours and you would like to make changes to what information I have, please feel free to ask. If you want, I can transfer the management of the person to you.

Thank you for all the corrections. I have added them to their memorials. :)
I am happy to make corrections/additions to a profile if they are substantiated. Simply "because I said so" is not sufficient. Thanks for keeping integrity in this database.

|Alma ||Betty Jean McClanahan|
I am president of the De Wolf Cemetery Association in Lee Co., IL.
I noticed your listing of Betty Jean McClanahan's information on the cemetery site. We have no information about her, and we had no knowledge of her being buried at the cemetery until now. Many of our records are lost.
Please, can you tell us more about her and her family? How do you know she is at De Wolf? Do you have an obituary? We are gathering stories of the people buried at De Wolf so that they will not be lost to memory.

|GENEALOGYLOVE||Albert Henry Merrifield|
Please notice the edit for his middle name which I sent to you on September 22, 2015 for him. I have not found his wife listed in the cemetery or at find a grave at this point nor are his parents listed yet for me to link everyone together, but this one accurate data is a proven fact from the book, The Merrifield Family in America.
|Donna Gieseke Turek||Emma Leseberg|
Hi-I am back again in regards to the Langhorst family. I found the memorial for Emma Leseberg-memorial #56616560,with the newspaper obituary notice. I also found a memorial for Anna Leseberg-memorial #72193329, and according to my family records, this is the same person. There is a picture of the headstone for Anna and her husband Henry, but not a headstone picture for Emma. According to the research I have done, census reports and family records, this makes me believe it is the same person. Also according to family records, there were no half siblings in this family. Anna is my first cousin twice removed.
Not certain what information you might have that could help me with these two, but if you have some and would share, I really would appreciate your help.
Again thanks for all your work and time. If like me, it is rewarding being able to help others locate and find their family. Donna Gieseke Turek
|Alma ||Edward, Nettie, Ira Howard|
I am working on restoring De Wolf Cemetery where Nettie and Ira Howard are buried, along with Alphons Prieve. I am wondering whether you know for sure that Edward is buried there. Are you related?

I had taken a picture of their headstone in Aug. 2012 along with several other headstones of members of my family in Union Cemetery in Palatine and have added to their information. Thanks for the additional information. Are you related to them? Donna Gieseke Turek

Hi, Would you please transfer William Weed Heaton to me?

Karen thank you for your comment and interest in g.grandfather. The stone in the photo I posted is next to the one in the link you sent me. You should be able to reclick on the photo I posted and blow it up full screen to read it. It listed 21 major battles that the unit fought in, I suppose I should transcribe the inscription so one doesn't have to squint. I'm a lousy typist. Thanks again Kingsley Hogan
