Bio and Links
Bio Photo My ancestors settled in northeastern Indiana in the 1830s and I am still here. I especially like old obituaries and newspaper clippings, and of course, cemeteries.

I generally follow the transfer guidelines as outlined by Findagrave. I try to get updates done quickly.

Exceptions: I often take photos when we go on vacation, so if I have a memorial that is not in NE Indiana, I am normally more than happy to transfer it as I have no plans to do research in those areas.

Thanks to all who have sent additional information for the memorials. Time does not allow me to thank each of your personally, but please know that the additional information is greatly appreciated.

Reuben Bitler - Catholic Cem - Ft Wayne
You have a memorial for a Reuben O Bitler (119931476) listed in Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne with a note he was removed from Lafayette and death date of May 23, 1923. The records I received from the Tippecanoe County Historical Association genealogy library list his death as April 22, 1932 in one of their headstone reading indexes with a note he was moved to Ft Wayne. I also have notes indicating the Apr 22, 1932 date from an obituary index in the Lafayette Journal and Courier, confirming he died in Lafayette. Could you let me know where the dates you have listed came from? He's a distant cousin.

RE: Catherine Boze
Thank-you! Thank-you! :)
What an incredible old headstone! It is still standing now - 156 years - and going strong. Bless you for recording this piece of history with your great photo of her headstone & sharing it with us all. It is a real treasure.

I looked up the picture carved on the tombstone and it is a weeping willow tree which symbolizes "perpetual mourning & grief". It gives us a clue about how much this woman was loved & missed by her family. The message is timeless. We are connected in our humanity and can all understand & relate to loss & grief.

Your generosity is very APPRECIATED!
Have a Blessed Christmas!

George W Delancey and Sarah Crosier Delancey
Thank you for the entry for these two people. Could you please tell me where you found the death dates for both? Is there a book where I may look for the documentation for George Delancey's date of death 2-11-1881 and his wife's date of death 9-7-1897?
Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.
Sue
