I started researching my family twenty three years ago after my mother passed away and I found I knew very little about her family.
I live in Washington State and most of the families that I research are in Missouri, Texas and Kentucky.
I have found researching my husbands and my families to be extremely exciting due to not knowing what the next turn will bring. That one piece of the puzzel that opens the door to a whole new world.
Research is so much easier now days then when my father and I first started. I hope more people will research their families. I love the statement "Lost but not Forgotton" They are only forgotton if we choose that to be !

John R. Dukes
I have found John R. Dukes death cert. I have his date of birth. He was born in May 1842. He married Matilda Johnson. I don't know if she is buried with John Dukes. I have his death cert. if you would like a copy. Also, his parents were David Dukes and Elizabeth Crabtree. On his death record I think they had the wrong mother. You may want to add this information to your memorial of John R. Dukes. My e-mail is You can e-mail there to let me know if you want that copy of his death cert.

RE: Photos of Gossett's at Unity
I just looked at all of the Gossett's at Unity that I had taken pictures for, and that all appear to show up on my end. I don't know if Find A Grave had a glitch that day or what may have happened but I can see them as of today!

Hi Liz,
I am so excited about this!
I have been looking at all the work you have done on the Pyles side of the family...AWESome work!!!!

Yes,Arthur was my grandfather...he died a long time ago but yes that is me...his granddaughter.

I know about his life when he was older and some pieces when he was younger but I am trying to put together more of the pieces of his life when he was a boy growing up.

I will send you an e-mail also.

Thank you for all the work that you have done on the memorials!!!!!
