I am a genealogy and history buff, living in the Van Buren Arkansas area. My ancestry is Irish, English Russian and Lithuanian. My roots in this country are Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Logan and Sangamon counties Illinois. I am interested in learning all I can and find that cemeteries are great sources of history. If you need assistance with a photo of a loved one's grave site, drop me a line.
I spent 7 years in the USMC as a military policeman.
Family Names I am researching: West, Davis, Burke, Bell, Guzouskis, Mikalauskas, Sheraka, McNelly, McNally and Zerhousen
Blessings to everyone. | |

 | RE: Bell Yes, he is his brother. My dad is Ivan's only son.I have 7 brothers.I am my dad's second daughter. Dad had 3 boys and 2 girls. My mom had 4 boys and myself. I am kind of the one who brought the family together. Blending families is difficult. I found out that a neat cowinkiedink happened. My husband and I got married on Nov.24,1990 and Grandma and Grandpa Ivan got married Nov.25,1917. I thought it was kind of cool.I remember my dad talking about Waymon and Uncle Arthur. I always wondered about that part of the family. I have had trouble finding anything about Burl Bell. | | | Carolyn Watson

There is a Bell family reunion every year sometime in May. I personally don't attend but you might like to. If I can help you in your search let me know how.I am related to half of polk county. I am a desendant of John A. Latch.I can't figure out where the Bell name came from. Thanks, Carolyn | | | Tony Johnson
 | RE: Pound Cemetery Hi Cyndy,
I contacted several people, but finally found a family who was familiar with, and who had attended a funeral at, the I.S. Pound Farm Cemetery. We cordinated my visit and they received permission for us to go across some private property that backs up to where the family grave plots are located. They finally pointed out where they thought the gravestones once stood, and I looked through the trees a few hundred feet more and could clearly see the headstones back furhter towards the end of the property line. The grounds have been well maintained by "somebody", and it is totally fenced. Are you a relative? Tony Johnson - Mustang, OK. | | | Angie Labbee
 | Eagleton Thank you so much for the pictures. It is so sad to see a cemetery that is not taken care of like it should be. Thanks so much for adding the overall view to get a better idea of what the whole place looks like. Have a Merry Christmas. Thanks again, Angie | | | Lesa Pfrommer
 | RE: information on the MountainTop Cemetery Yes, I saw that Endangered Cemetery Report posted in 2000. I was hoping things had changed in 10 years. I guess not.
