Bio and Links
Bio Photo A native of Oklahoma City, I remain a longtime resident. Currently I am the Executive Director of the Casey Family Assn. Inc.; compiling and researching the Casey family history since 1992, and personally since circa 1982.

Our particular Clan Casey, even prior to 1725, when it first arrived on American shores, has been predominately Scots-Irish Protestants in faith and loyalties. No offense to Casey clans of other persuasions.

US Navy veteran: CTR3 (Communications Technician, R-brancher), USN (1967-1971). I'm looking for any and all former NSG Hakata, or Kami Seya, Japan CTs.

I support transfers to known relatives! After all, who is better qualified to manage a memorial than someone with a caring, kinship interest. However, please be somewhat specific in your requests. "This is a relative's memorial" will not suffice in the future. If you're only third cousins, five times removed, please just let me know. I'll probably transfer. Unfortunately, it only takes a few to make the majority of good contributors look bad.

And please let me know if you wish any of my photos removed. Especially the temporary grave markers, in lieu of permanent.

Stop by and pay a visit to my hero dad, Sgt. Raymond L. Casey.

"Our Country! In her intercourse with foreign nations may she always be in the right; but right or wrong, our country!" Stephen Decatur.

Casey
Hi Mike....I am hoping you can help me connect my Casey family. Levi Casey of Taney County, Missouri is my 3rd great grandfather. Levi's father was John Casey who died in Greene County, Missouri. I BELIEVE John and Abner (of Arkansas) were brothers but need to prove this or disprove this. Can you help me? My email is: tmorton2412@yahoo.com

Thanks so much
Tammy

Picture of Gilbert and Florence Casey
Thank you so much for posting the picture of Columbus Gilbert and Florence Casey.

I knew them growing up as Aunt Florence and Uncle Gilbert. We used to visit them on their farm. It was the first time that I had eggs directly from a chicken coup and the ONLY time I ever rode a Shetland pony and the first time I ever had milk with the cream still floating on top. Still love it that way. And the first time I ever saw and caught a Lightening bug or Box Elder Bug or Firefly. Depends on what part of the country you come from what they are called. I even used to roll down the hill under the railroad tracks to the bottom until they flooded it and put in the Dardanell lake.

I am Nancy Yvonne Valles Countz Dick. Born Valles, reared by Victor E. Countz and currently married to David Dick. I grew up in New Mexico but spent many summers traveling to meet relatives. Aunt Florence and Uncle Gilbert were my favorite ones to visit. Thanks for posting their picture so I could see it and bring back all those wonderful memories before they are gone.

Your Dad
Mike, you certainly are welcome for the message. I was stationed at Little Rock AFB Hospital in 1985 and retired myself that same year.
Your Dad an I were in the process of a trade at Ramstein, I had a 1965 Chevrolet Impala station wagon and I wanted his Dodge van. We were all set to trade and the engine of the station wagon gave out it's last breath. I saw your Dad the next day and he wanted to know when the trade was going to happen.
I told him he didn't want the station wagon and he'd be better off keeping the van. I could still have traded because etc station wagon was still running but I could't do it to "Ben" (we all called him Ben Casey). He was a good guy and I couldn't live with myself if I took advantage of him. Better for me to be stuck than him and I would have had to work with him the remainder if my tour at Ramstein.
Good to hear from you and hope you do exceedingly well in the future!

I Was Stationed With Ray
Hi, my name is John Civick and I was stationed with Ray Casey at Ramstein AB Germany in 1970-72. He had an old Dodge camping van of maybe 1966 vintage?? I never had a chance to talk to him about his past but he had a great military history that I didn't know about.
He was a 90170 in the Flight Surgeon's Office at he 26th TAC Hospital. My respect to you and your Dad!

Nancy Barnes Wright
The Casey Family Association placed a stone on the grave of Nancy Wright, wife of Bartholomew Wright, and stated her maiden name was Barnes. Do you have documents proving that? I would need copy.

RE: Emma Morano
Thanks Mike. Even when I Google her they still talk about her as if she is still alive. Usually Google reports deaths right away. I will remove the death date for now. Thanks....Barbara
