The descendants of the old settlers, those who cleared the land and first upturned the wild sod to the sun, should see that the doings of those early years are fittingly remembered and recorded. |
It was once remarked by a great writer that those who take no interest in the deeds of their ancestors are not likely to do anything worthy to be remembered by their descendants.
Please leave flowers or memorials on my memorials, I believe everyone deserves flowers, and I have a great family. Thank you in advance.
A BIG thank you to those who send histories, death notices, obits and links to add to the memorials. They are wonderful additions.
Please read Find A Grave's Transfer Requirements before requesting a transfer "THE FIND A GRAVE GUIDELINES FOR TRANSFERRING MEMORIALS ARE: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. IF A MISTAKE IS FOUND PLEASE EMAIL ME,USING THE EDIT BUTTON ON THE MEMORIAL. This is very important which is why it is CAPITALIZED thank you.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our heart contracts and beat a pulse Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so.I wonder if you lived and loved,I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you.

Thanks. I am going to go back to the person with the memorial in Pioneer and ask her what her source was. I consider yours definitive but it seemed wierd to find her and him in Pioneer. More research to do. Thanks for all you have done and will do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
|David Turnbole||RE: Frederick LeClere|
i've taken that picture down. I AM looking for the one for Frederick. If there's a marker I took the picture. I did all of the markers in that little cemetery.

Barbara, I believe you have frederick's son's (francis)tombstone is on Frederick's memorial. You also have a link to the memorial for his son but no picture. Seems like the picture just got added to the wrong person. Thought I'd let you know.

Thank you for the links to Elbert's parents. I tried to enter the place of birth but "Brodgon" is not listed in Johnston County, OK. Perhaps this is one of those cities that was lost in the shuffle of time. I did add the state and county though. I have been unable to find his place of death which shows as Bond, Eagle, Colorado on the SSDI. If you know that is correct, I'll be most happy to change this information as well.
Have a wonderful week.
