I, too, began family research nearly forty years ago, before the internet exploded our options and resources. Now that I've found Find A Grave, I've become addicted to preserving the information found on older monuments that are weathering away and linking families together.

Most of my memorials involve extensions of my (huge) family lines, Civil War soldiers, and other older fragile monuments.

My own lines include BAUMAN, BIRI, BONE, DALTON, JOLLY, LaROSE, MAYBERRY, NAEGER, RICE, STOREY, and TONGUAY in Missouri counties Madison, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Washington,

Thank you to all the volunteers before me who have posted information on elusive family members.

John E Carnes
Kent Kooi and I have been doing research on the men of the 4th Iowa Cavalry for over three years. We would like to ask permission to use your headstone photo of John E Carnes, buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, in a Power Point presentation we are putting together to donate to the historical societies in several Iowa counties. We would credit the photo as "Courtesy of Judy Mayberry Belford." Please let me know, and thank you.

I had absolutely no idea what "B.-Brks" stood for! Thank you so very much! And thank you for permission for the use of the photo of young William's headstone. Wow. Very nice. I had no idea.

How fabulous to find the headstone of a long ago family member lost in the Civil War! I am requesting permission to use your photo of William J. Travis' headstone on my Ancestry.com family tree. I will, of course, give you credit. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Hazel Thomure-McCabe's Mother's info
Hi Judy,

My name is Gary Williams.
On your information for Hazel's Mother's name, you have Leone (Haskins).
Her Mother's name is Leona Alma Harmon, I don't know the reason why but Leona (my Grandmother) told me it was because they were poor so her parents Daniel and Martha gave her too the Haskins to raise.

I have lots more information on these families I would be willing to share with you. My email address is
gbwilliams65@yahoo.com

I look forward to hearing from you.
