I'm fairly new to genealogy and researching, but the bug has bitten hard.|
Any photos that I have posted, feel free to copy for your use. When I take a photo, my hope is that it will be useful to researchers, be appreciated by survivors, and enjoyed by them all.

There is another memorial of Wilma Shanklin Wilkes Green (Find A Grave # 145415957) with obit also by Shirley C Cole. It does not have the family links, however. If you want I can delete mine or ask her to do so.There is no need of duplication.

Hi Dixie, I am trying to find information on William Halbert. I just found out he was married to my mother at the time of his death. I'll take anything.
Here is another you may find interesting regarding another relative of ours, Mary Ann Gammill Lavender, who is also buried in Beersheba. You might want to place it in her Findagrave listing.
"Aunt Jennie McLeod told me that when her great-grandmother died they planned to take her back [to Mantua] to be buried by her husband; however, the winter weather was so severe and their only transportation would be by wagon, and the ground was frozen for some depth. Because of this, she was buried close to John Wilson's home. At the time she died there was only one cemetery close to the family, Beersheba Church in Lowndes County, MS and her grave is located here. Sometime during the 1960s vandals went into Beersheba and broke and disfigured many of the monuments, including Mary Ann's."
