Bio and Links
Bio Photo Some names of interest in my own family line include Lowther, Thistle, Milne, Henderson, Zirkle, Tedrow, Briix, and Blythe, my great-grandparents' names. My husband's family names include Doan, Corder, Dokken, Tangen, Goff, Allen and Peterson. Please send corrections/ updates; I want things to be accurate.

My grandmother, Wanda Zirkle Jilka, and great-aunt, Veda Zirkle Vickery, compiled a book commonly referred to as "The Red Book," "Zirkle Branches 1725-1978, Yesteryears and Yesterdays." There are several copies for sale if anyone is interested. It mainly outlines the history of two Zirkle/Zerkel branches which left VA, went to OH, then settled in Richland, Shawnee Co, KS.

"Life is not separate from death. It only looks that way." Blackfoot Quote

"A Visit to the Gravesite"

Dear Ancestor,
Your Tombstone stands among the rest,
Neglected and alone.
The name and dates are chiseled here,
On polished marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
Though it is too late to mourn.
You do not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh, in blood, and bone.
The place you filled so many years ago,
I wonder if you could have known,
Would spread among the ones you left
In all the seeds you've sown.
I wonder if you lived and loved?
I wonder if you ever knew?
That someday I would find you in this spot,
And come to visit you?

I WILL HAVE TO CHECK WITH L.I. NATIONAL CEMETERY. BECAUSE THEY MAINTAIN ALL THE RECORDS FOR CYPRESS HILLS NATIONAL CEMETERY. THEY HAVE NO AUTOMATED MACHINE TO LOOK UP GRAVES. THEY ONLY HAVE TWO BOOKS AND HE WAS NOT LISTED.

Maintaining sites
Hi Becky. Would it be possible to have me maintain the burial sites for Wayne Bernard Granger, Mabel Claire Granger and Willis Arthur Granger. They are my grandparents and uncle. I have a lot of information to add and would like to maintain them. Thank you ever so much.

Find A Grave Memorial# 59744533

There is a typo on his death date should read 27 Feb 1915, not 17 Febn 1915. His pictured gravestone says 27th, and a Deth notice from the newspaperindicates it was the 27th. I eill post the small jpg file of the obit if you would like me to do so.

LINKing
Thanks for linking the parents to their child and for tidying up by deleting the same info in the bio that you did so nicely.

If everybody did what was needed and so quickly, I'd be one "happy camper:!!

Jasper and James Doan
Becky, I am trying to link Jasper Newton Doan with his father, James Doan (jr.), his grandfather James Doan (sr.) and his great grandfather, Thomas Doan. I have the 1850 McNairy Co., TN census which shows Jasper living with his parents, James and Elizabeth Doan. Do you have a link (will or probate record) linking James Doan (jr.) to his parents James (sr.) and Mary Doan? Or James (sr.) to his father, Thomas Doan? Please let me know. Thank you kindly.
