RE: Asa Myers
I added the picture of the stone because it was in Lone Star Cemetery. I assumed he was buried there because there was a stone. I no longer maintain this memorial as I transferred management to a relative. You may want to contact her and have her place a note on the memorial regarding your beliefs about his burial.

Thank you for the info he is my husband's ggggreat grandfather rumor has it that Huston and Amy McClure the parents of Davis' son-in-law Henry McClure are buried there as well. Do you know by chance if there are any records for this cemetery that could help me find out for sure? Been looking for their final resting places for 10 years now.

comment on hill cemetery picture
San Augustine County, Hill Cemetery is named such for the Hill family, of which Hill County is named and Hillsboro is also named, not because its on a hill. The Hill family were prominent Texas Citizens and like the rest of the clans started in East Texas and moved out to the frontier of Hill County and North Texas to settle it as our Ancestors serving in the Texas Militia and as Texas Rangers on Mounted Gunmen companies cleared the Comanche from those area driving them beyond the line of Texas forts and Block houses to the west. No one ventured into Comancheria alone or unarmed, it was no mans land.

John Myers
My grandmother left an old newspaper article for the family. It details some history of the Myers family as probably the first family in the New Hebron area of Mississippii. It was in our family scrapbook so it was important to her but we don't know why. If you would like a copy of this article please respond to So it is undated and cannot be tied to a specific newspaper but believe it is circa 1960's and is the Clarion Ledger paper of Jackson, Mississippi.
