Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy since 1991. I have recently started as a FindAGrave volunteer photographer. I have some experience in database management and decided to ask Green Hills cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes CA if I could convert the database that they have on-line to the FindAGrave format and do a bulk submittal of those names interred in Green Hills that had not already been submitted. They agreed that it was OK, as the names were already in the public domain on their website. It has been a sucessful project as I have had a lot of people tell me they have found relatives that they would not have found otherwise.
I have turned the management of the memorials over to "GreenHillsStonesCalling"
I have recently updated the memorials at Green Hills memorial Park to be current as the end of August 2015.
With the permission of the Wilmington Cemetery Board, the South Bay Cities Genealogical Society with my coordination has completed the addition of all interments in the Wilmington Cemetery to FindAGrave. Those of you who are posting there, please check carefully to assure there is not a memorial already posted before you post a duplicate.

The Process
Well, I believe I understand the process well enough. I work full time and my weekends are pretty full, so I don't think a meeting with you in the near future is feasible or necessary. I am not 'monitoring' the memorial count at Green Hills. The fact that 66 memorials were added in a week is not "alarming" to me, as that number is probably correct and probably does not contain duplicates. You specifically said that someone "is not checking for duplicates" based on that number. I don't think that is an accurate observation, since there are burials taking place at Green Hills every day. Some of our larger cemeteries have as many as 20 burials per day, so 66 in week is not cause for alarm. Go to Green Hills' website, and look under the topic "Find a Service" and you will see a list of burials that will be taking place in the next 7 days. They have ALL been added to this site already. That is the source I was using for most of 2015, until someone else figured out how I was doing it. Now that person is doing most of them. Any future bulk submittal for burials in 2015 will be pointless, since the new ones are being added constantly.

The Wilmington problem is another story entirely, good luck with that! I personally would never undertake a bulk submittal. I go out when I have a chance and take a lot of photos and then add them to existing memorials and create new ones if necessary. I know of at least one person who takes photos at Green Hills and if the name does not exactly match a memorial, she creates a duplicate, knowing that it is a duplicate, with the belief that it increases a person's chance of finding it. I will light-heartedly say that is the kind of person you should be sitting down with and discussing the Process!

Take care,

New Interments - duplicates?
Warren, I have sent you a number of requests to remove duplicates, particularly for memorials for 2015. You told me you updated Green Hills, using their database, through the end of August. New memorials from September to the present are constantly be added, by myself and another member, using Green Hills list of pending services. I do not understand what you mean in your bio when you say: "Please check before you submit a memorial to be sure it is not a duplicate. There have been 66 memorials added in the last week from Sept 14 to Sept 22nd.That means someone is not checking for duplicates." Any memorials we have added for burials that have occurred from September 1 to now would not be duplicates of what you added, right? It seems that the problem with duplicates is coming from you, meaning no disrespect, judging by all of the messages on your page that ask you to remove duplicates. I'm just not understanding why you are asking others to be careful about duplicates.

I am very grateful for your kindness
Dear Warren, thank for the transfer of Mrs. Fumiko Tikagawa to me. I have been researching my husband's family for my and daughter and future generations. I am most grateful that you still had control over this memorial. She and her family deserve all the heritage and honor I can assemble. I am equally as sad that I am unable to have her husband.

Your kindness gives me hope, that the sanctity of one's entire family and its ancestors is respected and held to the highest regard, if only, by a handful of contributors.
best regards, marilyn

Will you link him to his parents? Father is Nobel White # 154138731 and Mother is Ruby White # 154138459. You can transfer him to me if you can. I just discovered them this past week end while at Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, Okla.
Thank you so much.
