Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a 'farm girl' who grew up in Iowa. I still live in Iowa, just not on the farm!

I am trying to leave a legacy on Find a Grave for my children and grandchildren, and for others as well, by making family stories and links.

I found my great grandmother's headstone on Find a Grave quite by accident and have been hooked on this site ever since.

I enjoy helping others find relatives' and friends' resting places. I have posted many memorials and photos from various cemeteries so others can gather data.

I create memorials with dignity and respect for those who have passed. I will remove a memorial if it is too sensitive for you, and I will remove photos you do not want on a memorial.

I am not interested in amassing large numbers of memorials. I am interested in contributing data and connecting family members.

Forgive me for not yet having all burial locations takes time to research. Also, some mortuaries do not list burial or disposition details in their obituaries, so there exists some unknowns.

I do transfer memorials if you have information to add, unless it is for my relative.

I often try to add information and family links by researching a family. This takes time, so some memorials I've created do not contain a bio.

Please let me know if there is an error so it can be corrected. I want to have true and appropriate information.

I usually make edit requests the same day.

I appreciate knowing about added posts to my memorials such as photos or obituary clippings that would help me link family members.

I am happy to share photos with you to use in your family albums. Feel free to contact me.

I took gravestone photos of these entire cemeteries. All are posted for:
Paton Cemetery - Paton, Iowa
Dawson Cemetery near Paton, Iowa
Antioch - Clarksville, Iowa
Lynwood - Clarksville, Iowa
Old Town - Clarksville, Iowa
Pleasant Valley - Clarksville, Iowa
Butler Center - Butler County, Iowa
St. Mary's Catholic - Greene, Iowa

I added quite a few photos for McCallsburg Cemetery and Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. I will be taking photos in several Butler County cemeteries when possible. As of 2015, I am adding 1000 photos I took at Rose Hill in Greene.

Thank You - Cynthia White
Thank you for the photos of Cynthia White's gravestone in Rosehill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. She is my 3rd great grandmother. It's great to be able to read the words. When I started this journey I wasn't even sure I could find where she moved to from Pennsylvania and now I can see her stone! Thank you!

RE: Lawrence Crouse
There are four Crouse's buried at Mountview across the street from Sunset. Their names are Charles, Ella, Emma, and Sheridan, don't know if any of these are the ones you are looking for but let me know. Also checked with Sunset and they haven't got back to me yet, will let you know if they have any. Take Care

Thank you for adding the photos of my Aunt Mary's grave marker. She is my mother's youngest sister and the last of the 9 children to pass away. I would never have been able to go to Iowa to take one and that's why I love Find a Grave because everyone helps each other and makes our work more complete. I am sure by photographing these many cemeteries you have brought joy to many. Every day is like a gift and I got one today. I appreciate your time and dedication.

Memorial 77247603

Memorial 77247603 - Ephraim C Anderson (1810-1896)

You have his mother listed as
Sarah Green Glaze Anderson (1786 - 1858)

This is not correct.

Sarah's Marriages below

Married #1 , 1810 to Henry Glaze (1784-1814)
This marriage ended at his death in 1814.

Married #2 - 1817, Ephraim Anderson (1782 - 1832)

How can she be the mother of Ephraim C Anderson born in 1810 ?

I think you are right, however if you do have time it would be great to see if the City of Greene has more information.

I think that maybe the stone maker spelled it wrong. Just don't know. I made a note of it in the memorial. Are there other Schultz family members around that would maybe give us a clue?? Thanks, Gini

Thanks, Marilyn. I appreciate that. I know what you mean about those blank dates on tombstones.

How did you know my mother passed? It was so recently that it surprised me when you mentioned it. Thank you for your kind words.

The Rose Hill information is fine so feel free to keep it coming.

RE: Martin Crouse

So happy that I could "help" you find where a member of your family was buried!

I am a genealogy "nut"! Love it! So I enjoyed your enthusiasm about getting started on Mr. Crouse's memorial page.

I am still looking for a great uncle's burial place. I know city and state, just not what cemetery, unfortunately for me a very large city with a lot of cemeteries. One of these days someone will post a memorial for him (I hope). I can't even order a death certificate because my great uncle's mother was Icelandic and I don't know what was used as a maiden name for her as her Icelandic maiden name doesn't work when I search.

Good luck, Marilynn!

Best wishes,
judy :)

Hi Marilynn,

I certainly don't mind adding information to a memorial, but as a family member I'm sure you will take good care of his memorial and enjoy adding the information at your convenience.

The memorial has been transferred to you.

Best wishes,
High Plains aka judy :)

RE: Adren Koontz
Let me know if I can help by doing a "look-up" at Rowan Central Library's history and genealogy room. When you do visit North Carolina, I hope you will plan enough time to spend a couple of days there. It's an amazing resource.

What were John Crouse's dates and residence? Also, was the surname ever spelled with a 'K' or as Krause? Can you tell I like the mystery of genealogy?

Let me know if I can help.
