|Bio and Links|
FIND A GRAVE IS A REGISTRATION OF THE FINAL DISPOSITION.|
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave must fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
So much wrong information is given. I get information from others. If you find something you have proof or source that what is added is wrong please let me know.
Some take what they find on Ancestry as fact. There is a lot of wrong links and information on Ancestry.com.
Please do not add photos of birth, death records, newspaper obituary's or articles or other stuff like that to memorials I have added. They do not belong on here. Find a grave will remove them if asked. I think they are tacky and make the memorial look bad.
I stopped walking cemeteries because of the large number of burial unknown being added then moved after I find the true burial location. One does not have to look for a burial unknown when you walk a cemetery just search the cemetery.
You should find the burial location then add the name. Not add the names then hope someone finds The grave for you. Even if they are cremated if they have a stone in the cemetery the one added to the right cemetery FIRST will stay.
Your BURIAL UNKNOWN will be gone.
The FAQ are guidelines and the guidelines are the RULES. (Mark, Administrator)
In the FAQ's You will find sites rules/guidelines.
You do not need to manage a memorial to add information. All you have to do is use the edit tab. It is the same as if you managed it.
I WILL NOT LINK TO BURIAL UNKNOWN. Burial unknown get removed if someone adds the name to a cemetery. The one in the right cemetery first stays. As in the FAQ's, In regard to duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location.
Transfers will on be with in the four generations
(siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents)
What if a member will not transfer my relative to me?
If the memorial in question is a direct relative within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents)
to you and the original submitter is not direct family, then they must transfer the memorial. If they refuse to transfer your relative to you, contact email@example.com and we will work on it for you.
Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal is to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
What is Find A Grave?
FIND A GRAVE'S FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT MISSION IS TO LOCATE THE BURIAL THEN RECORD.
WE SHOULD NOT RECORD ALL THE OTHER STUFF THEN HOPE OTHERS LOCATE THE BURIAL LOCATION.

It is my opinion that cut and paste census are tacky and do not make a good memorial.
Additionally, biographical information and obituaries are not to be included in a virtual flower.
You Can CONTACT ME with a memorial.
