|I have been doing Genealogy for about 30 years off and on and about 5 years working on it daily since my children are grown and gone. My husband and I are both disabled so I have plenty of time to work on it. I have met some wonderful people on Find A Grave. |
I have worked on Ivy Green Cemetery by going out to the cemetery and taking pictures and then creating the memorials and fixing the pictures to the correct size. Most of the time I could only work for 1/2 hour after driving there so it took me a lot of time. I have no family in this area but found this might be a way to repay those individuals who took pictures and put them on the memorials of my family in other parts of the country. I am trying to go to other cemeteries as soon as I can recover my strength and energy from back surgery.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents as outlined in the FAQ answers at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=transfering+memorials&page=listFaqs#79. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. If you are not within these generations, I will help in putting any info you have on the memorial.
I really love family history.

Thank you. I am just curious as I am doing my family tree. I actually have the wedding invitation! I think my grant aunt Beverley is still alive... but no contact and not sure how to contact her. I have been going throw so much of my grandma's picture books and found that.

Hello - not sure if your related to Ronald B. Connelly...but I have a wedding invitation from Ronald to my great aunt Beverley Halverson showing they married in 1957...but I'm not seeing that here and I'm having trouble finding a marriage certificate so far.

Thank you for your reply Libby, and good luck to you as well with your searching.

It was on Washington State Digital Archives. I'd go with what is on the headstone. I've found many transcription errors on the records although if the stone was done years after he died, it could be family error. Still, I generally go with the headstone but make a note on the memorial.

|Colorado||Thayne Wyoming Cemetery|
Hi! I am presently here in Thayne (my husband and I travel full time in a motor home) and looked up the cemetery here. I am in the process of taking photos of the remaining names in the cemetery whose headstone photos are not yet posted. I have added 5 so far this morning and will be going back out today to try to finish up the remaining headstone pictures including those that requested photos.
As we travel around the country I try to go to every cemetery where we are and take pictures to get them out here. I have posted quite a few pictures so far for various cemeteries.
I went to the library here in Thayne and they do not have any info on local genealogy so I was wondering if you would mind if I created a binder with the cemetery info that included the pictures that have been posted on findagrave as well as the stories/obits that are out there on these people. They could then keep the binder in the library for anyone who is looking for family.
Let me know if you are okay with this.

I see a memorial, 67954083 for Anna Barbara Frye Tuttle with final resting place in the Frye-Tuttle -Westmoreland Cemetery in Germanton, Stokes Com N C. Your memorial shows in narrative that she was a widow with two daughters by William Tuttle, her first husband and buried in Tenn. Am asking since Ancestry has sent me two separate notices of DNA match for John Tuttle and the other for Anna. Any thoughts?
|Gala Smythe||Mattie R Wood|
Mattie R Wood is buried in Bremerton, Washington. She was born in 1843 and died in 1938. The information listed to the right of the headstone photo ways she died in 1912. Can this be changed?
I have started to edit Mary's memorial. I just want to say thank you, for transferring her to me. Thought you'd like to see the progress. I have been in touch with parties to replace the grave marker. When we have a new pic and the memorial is finished I'll let you know.
