|I have been doing Genealogy for about 30 years off and on and about 5 years working on it daily since my children are grown and gone. My husband and I are both disabled so I have plenty of time to work on it. I have met some wonderful people on Find A Grave. |
I have worked on Ivy Green Cemetery by going out to the cemetery and taking pictures and then creating the memorials and fixing the pictures to the correct size. Most of the time I could only work for 1/2 hour after driving there so it took me a lot of time. I have no family in this area but found this might be a way to repay those individuals who took pictures and put them on the memorials of my family in other parts of the country. I am trying to go to other cemeteries as soon as I can recover my strength and energy from back surgery.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents as outlined in the FAQ answers at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=transfering+memorials&page=listFaqs#79. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. If you are not within these generations, I will help in putting any info you have on the memorial.
I really love family history.

|Robert Hobbs||Roy L. Nelson|
My uncle Roy Lester Nelson was born 29 Jan 1898 in Stewartsville, Missouri. If you would be so kind as to update his memorial.

Thanks so much, Libby, for both the transfers.

Would you mind transferring management of Lars Christian Edvard Christensen and Maggie Jane Christensen to me. They are my grandparents.
|Michael D. Brownell||Christina Nelson|
I am wondering if you have or can get any additional information about the Christina Nelson that you have found in Ivy Cemetery.
I also have a Christina Nyman Nelson (1880-1909) who is buried at Brownsville Cemetery in Bremerton. She is the daughter of Andrew "Dogfish" Nelson who was the founder of Brownsville Cemetery.
It may well be that these are two different people and the names are just a coincidence. Or there may be an error in the records. In any event, I would like to know more about it. Unfortunately Christina Nelson Nyman's headstone was damaged by vandals and is no longer available. I am in the process of ordering a new headstone for her. Thanks!

Would you mind turning my grandparents over to me? Their names are Maggie and Christian Christensen.
Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for transferring my Grandfather, Grandmother and Aunt. I've made several changes to them. Dave

I just ran across this memorial while searching for relatives.
Darwin is not buried in the Maitland Cemetery, he is in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Graham.
I photographed his grave this week, he was married to my aunt.
Feel free to check his memorial at 131197816.
Hopefully the incorrect one can be taken down.
Thanks for all you do on this site.

Yes it is. I did not know if you wanted an actual copy of the obituary before making the change on the year. I can send that if you wish.

I am OK with that. I was not really suggesting changing that date since the stone says 1884, but I was suggesting being correct in the copy of the obituary. The newspaper said 1883, so I think the obituary included on Find A Grave should be an exact copy of the newspaper obituary, even if there is a note saying this discrepancy exists.
