Hannah Corning Cann
No photograph exists for Hannah Corning Cann (1784-1839), since she died in 1839 at the age of 55 and photography, which was only invented in 1839, did not become common in the US until the mid-1840s.

Please delete your image from this site from other websites, to prevent others from becoming confused.

I, as much as you, would like to have a photo of Hannah, but that hope will not be realized in mortality.

RE: Roy O. Ransom
Any idea what happened to Thomas Grover Ransom and Bessie Patterson's only child, Roy? Everything I pull up is for Roy O. Ransom and they would be cousins. I find no record for him; perhaps he died. Nor can I find his father Thomas Grover in any 1910 census when his wife and son were with her parents. I guess the mystery continues.

RE: Roy O. Ransom
The mystery continues...I show that Thomas Grover, Odren Bryan and Otis Lee Ransom were the children of James Ransom and Maggie Honecutt. James died in 1900 and Maggie then married John Henry Derks.

The Shannon Co. Hitorical Society has in their archives that "A.J. Patterson gave consent fo his daughter, Bessie B., to marry T.G. Ransom of Howell Co., MO. Mrs. M.E. Derks, mother of T.G. Ranso, also gave consent. They married August11, 1908 by N.T. Smith, minister.

In the 1910 census, Bessie Ransom is living with her parents, Andrew J. and Fannie Patterson, along with "grandson" Roy Ransom who was 10 months old.

Do you think I have the correct family?

RE: Roy O. Ransom
Interesting. What do you know about Odren's broher, Thomas Grover Ransom? He married Bessie Patterson in Shannon co., MO and had a son also name Roy O. In the 1910 census, Bessie and Roy were living wit her parents, Andrew Jackson and Fannie Patterson. Roy O. Ransom is listed as their grandson and was born in 1909. Roy's father Thomas Grover is not in the census. Do you suppose both brothers would name a son Roy O? Do you have any other info? Sorry to be a bother, but you seem to be the first person who knows something about Roy and his family. Many, many thanks for any info available.

Are you related to Roy O. Ransom? Looking for family members. I show Roy's parents as Bessie Patterson and Grover Ransom. Please respond...and thanks!

Grant Brown in Eagar Cemetery
Upon reading the obituary that was sent to me tonight by another graver I realized that this is your father in law. Would you like to have ownership of his memorial? Happy New Year!
