Bio and Links
Bio Photo I primarily cover cemeteries in Hampshire and Franklin Counties, though I have also done extensive work in and around Boston.

My focus is on pre-1800 stones, Revolutionary War veterans and Civil War veterans. I also snap any Dickinsons I come across, since those Dickinsons seem to be really into this.

MY PHOTOGRAPHS MAY NOT BE RE-POSTED OR REPRODUCED ON THIS SITE, ANY OTHER WEBSITE, OR IN ANY OTHER FORM OF MEDIA WITHOUT MY EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION!

PER FIND A GRAVE'S POLICY, PLEASE NOTE THAT "TRANSFER REQUESTS SHOULD BE FOR DIRECT RELATIVES WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS, THIS WOULD BE YOUR SIBLINGS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND GREAT-GRANDPARENTS."

I don't mind being contacted with a specific question about one individual, but please don't contact me with open-ended questions about an entire family line. I receive an average of two such emails per week, and since I have a busy work life, I simply do not have the time to type out entire branches of my family tree over and over. Please refer to rootsweb.com and/or ancestry.com which is where I got most if not all of the information. I HAVE NOT POSTED AND WILL NEVER POST MY OWN FAMILY'S PERSONAL TREE ON THE INTERNET, SO THERE IS NO MAGIC LINK TO A MASTER FAMILY TREE THAT I CAN PROVIDE.

Memorial# 20849281, for “Brickmaker” Thomas Prentice (1674-1709)
I am a Prentice descendant, and I have suggestions for your Memorial# 20849281, for “Brickmaker” Thomas Prentice (1674-1709), whose stone you photographed in the Cambridge Old Burying Ground. My source is the standard Prentice genealogy reference, C.F. Binney’s The History and Genealogy of the Prentice or Prentiss Family, in New England, from 1631 to 1883, 2nd edition, 1883. Please see p.6.
Binney identifies Thomas’ parents as: Solomon Prentice and Solomon’s first wife Elizabeth (maiden surname unknown). There is a FG memorial for Solomon (#12135490), so you could link to that. I don’t think there is one for his mother Elizabeth. Binney describes this Thomas as:
“Thomas Prentice, ‘husbandman’ and ‘brickmaker,’ son of Solomon, Sen., and Elizabeth, d. Dec. 7 or 17, 1709; m., 1st, about 1696, Maria Russell, who died May 1, 1701 ; m., 2d, Nov. 6, 1701, Mary Batson, of Boston. In 1697 he owned the covenant, and was admitted to First Church, Cambridge, July 13, 1701. His estate, £506 2s. 6d. The inventory mentions his brickyard, his first wife's wearing apparel, £2 ; a riding-hood in Mrs. Nathaniel Hancock's hands; gun, sword, and cane, £2 ; homestead on both sides of high- way, £70 ; land bounded by lands of Solomon Prentice, Nathaniel Wyeth, and Henry Prentice. His widow m., 2d, Nathaniel Robbins, of Charlestown, Mass., and again m. ___ Lyon.; she d. March 2, 1760, ae. 84. . . .Mary, wife of Nathaniel Robbins, settled Thomas Prentice's estate.”
Easy enough to copy/paste. Binney also listed eight children, born between 1697-1709.
Regards,
BGL

Hannah Kingsbury Hyde #15016697
Hi, Moo,
Hannah Kingsbury Hyde was my 5th great grandmother, and I am working on her profile for my family tree. Thank you so much for creating and maintaining her memorial! I know it has been a long time (2006) and a multitude of memorials since you created this one for Hannah, but I am hoping you have an incredible memory and/or a special connection with her.
Do you recall the source of your information regarding her birth date? I have a couple of Sons of the American Revolution applications that have the same information you have, only the month they give is March rather than February. They aren't the most reliable of sources, so I would like to see what else is available. Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Melinda

Joan
wife of Edward Marret
Hannah Bradish Marrett FindAGrave # 20915042
I sent you an edit with information I found in American Genealogist per Google Books. Wife of Joseph Stanhope is now thought to be a daughter of James Bradish, brother of Joseph.

Hannah and Edward had Amos in 1694 when Annah Bradish and Joseph Stanhope had Isaac Stanhope in 1696.

Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave!

Hannah Homer, Kings Chapel Burying Ground, Boston. Father William Homer. Was wondering if you would know any more on her. Could this be Hannah Homer born Oct. 5, 1768 and her father was also William Homer?
Thanks

West Farms Cemetery
Just wondering if you have any relatives buried in West Farms. I just became the volunteer genealogist for the West Farms group looking to restore the cemetery. At this time, we are looking for any living relatives that might have more information about the celestial residents, pictures of them or the West Farms area, or who might know someone else that does.
THANKS!!

May I have your permission to post Robert's headstone pic? Memorial# 39370035 I see someone already has it on Ancestry, but I'd like to update it and give proper credit and source of course.
Thanks for considering.
