Bio and Links
Bio Photo I believe that it is important we remember and honor the past. By tending to my family's roots through remembering the people who have gone before, I can help keep their memories and the memory of them alive.

I am especially interested in transcribing and providing photographs for the Towns/North Amber Cemetery and Rikey Cemetary in Amber Township, Mason County, Michigan and the Potter's Field of Lakeview Cemetary, Mason County, Ludington, Michigan.

If you are related to any of the individuals that I've submitted information about and would like to take over their memorials, please contact me.

There is more than one way of getting close to your ancestors.

Follow the Old Road and as you do, think of them; they climbed Chillingbourne Hill just as you did. They sweated and paused for breath just as you did today. And when you see the bluebells in the spring and the wild thyme, and the broom and the heather, you're seeing what their eyes saw. You ford the same rivers, the same birds singing. And when you lie flat on your back and rest, and watch the clouds sailing as I often do, you're so close to those other people, that you can hear the thrumming of the hoofs of their horses, and the sound of the wheels on the road, and their laughter, and talk, and the music of the instruments they carried. And they turned the bend in the road, where they too saw the towers of Canterbury. I feel I have only to t

Lakeview Cemetery, Luddington MI
Hi,
I will be in Luddington this summer, and i would like to visit the cemetery while I'm there. I noticed that you posted several photos in the cemetery, and I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions that I have.
1) I was wondering the exact location of the cemetery.
2)I was wondering how the plot info. works, i was looking on the website, and it gave alot of different numbers for each person, i had never seen a cemetery plotted like this, Do they have seperate sections, or what exactly do these numbers mean?

Thanks,
Daniel Pletcher

RE: J Jacobs
Hi, sorry I did not get to reply to you. I am not sure of the plot number but I do know that I have a whole bunch of Jacobs who lived and died there. I will email you soon.

Mary Holmes
Hi,

I have recently found that John Holmes (wife Mary, daughter Fanny) is the brother of an ancestor of mine (William Wilson Holmes). I was wondering if you had any further information about the Holmes family? I'm afraid I don't have any more about Mary or Fanny than you do though. Seems they aren't that easy to track down!
Regards, Crista

Thank you for your response. I'll have to investigate this further. I need to work on the entire family to figure all this out and dig up more records. It'll take time. They're in my family. Thank you!

Hi Diann,
I found the death notice in the archives for this man and when I went to put it up, I found two memorials...your mouse must have stuttered. mine does it all the time. I'll put the obit on the first one.
