|Bio and Links|
I enjoy genealogy. In posting my family memorials, I usually do a bio that contains family information. I also usually create HTML links in the bio, which was the original way to link the memorials on Find A Grave. The family links feature now on Find A Grave has only been available for a few years. If you are as busy as I am, I don't have time to go back to all of the memorials I hold and link all of those graves, especially if I have them already posted in the biography portion of the memorial. Find A Grave was originally created to help find a grave. Not for me or anyone who earnestly works posting memorials, to do your genealogy. Sorry, I only have so much time in my day. Being bombed with multiple messages requesting the family links is really getting old. Be reasonable when making your requests and don't be part of taking the joy out of what is suppose to be a hobby. Remember, no one is getting paid for this. It's not my job.|
I posted this message because right now, I don't wish to have my messages feature turned off. Sharing & communicating is part of what this site is all about. In the past, I've been annoyed when I can't contact someone who contributes to FAG but now I'm beginning to understand what might have been the reason behind it.
Meet my parents:
Jay B. Junior Londo & Linda Lou Ketchum Londo .
Two of my favorite musical compositions:
Le Chancon de Claudine and
Classical Gas , both by Mason Williams.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

You are quite welcome! I thought it was fascinating that, at 100+, he still got around, practiced law and read without glasses. Sure would have loved to know his secret...
|Leon Stirm||Margaret Cook|
Thanks also for updating Margaret Cook info.
|Leon Stirm||Bernard Cook|

|Justin L Thompson||Sam Swinehart Memorial|
I would like to have my grandfather's memorial transferred to me please. Samuel J. Swinehart, Greenwood Cemetery. Thanks!
Added cute newspaper article about your 3rd great grandfather. I have his death as 1901. Memorial has 1900. The article appears in Sep 1900 and was also in a Muskegon paper.
|HeyHayKay||RE: Lucy May Vanderhoof Guy|
Yes, Lucy is related to the former governor of Colorado, John Dennis Vanderhoof, they would be cousins. Lucy's father, George Vanderhoof was the son of Dennis Lee Vanderhoof and Lucy May Ford and two other sons, Luther Dennis and Verner A. Their son Luther Dennis had three sons and two daughters and it was his son Roy Elvin who fathered John Dennis Vanderhoof. If you want to give me the name of your relative I'll check our family history for more information. Kay

Yikes, I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Yes I am related to Lucy May Vanderhoof Guy. She would be my 1st cousin once removed I think. My father, Theodore Franklin Hay, was the son of Charles F Hay & Mary May Vanderhoof. Mary Vanderhoof being the sister of George Vanderhoof, Lucy's father. Where do you fit into the family?
