I've been doing genealogy since 1976. This has been a fun hobby looking up my ancestors and finding out who and where they are buried. It shows me what stock I come from my heritage. |
Plus this is a great source for finding others in my tree to fill in the gap of blanks in my family history.
I use this as a training place for helping others trying to find their ancestors to learn where they come from and who they may be related to.
Researching surnames on Boelling, Gardner,
Ungry, Wert, McLaughlin, Gustin, Brinkmann, Black,
Henry and others.
Been known to be a "Gravestone whisperer".

|David Eide||RE: Katherine Johnson|
Actually the obituary is on Katherine E Johnston's memorlal at Rose City Cemetery.
|David Eide||Katherine Johnson|
Upon further research I found that Katherine Johnson was buried at Rose City Cemetery, January 10, 1920. Her name was Katherine Elizabeth Johnston, age 86. She died Jan. 8, 1920 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. J. Crips. This was taken from the Jan. 10, 1920, Oregonian. Now things are making sense. In 1910 Kate was living with her daughter and she was listed as a widow. In 1900 she was listed as married but George was not living with her?
|David Eide||George Johnson|
I noticed that there was a problem with your request for a photo of George's grave marker so I thought I might be able to help? I looked up a George T Johnson that was born in 1833. His funeral notice said he was the father of Mrs. S N Subra and
Mrs. Pearl Thompson, brother of Adrian Johnson. He died Feb. 7, 1921 and was cremated. Service was held at Finley's Mortuary. This was taken from the Feb. 9, 1921 Oregonian.
Hope this helps. Dave

I would be delighted to exchange information.
Shall we proceed off line?
|Bill Foy||Mary Black and Blanch Black.|
Mary is my aunt (Mary Foy) and I see some old messages about them . If still interested contact me. just joined so don't know how this works. Both Mary and Henry died in CA. Blanche had their bodies shipped to Cheyenne although they spent their lives in Laramie only living in Cheyenne a short time. While living in Cheyenne Blanches new husband was killed in a car accident he was buried in his families plot. There were several vacant spaces so I guess that is why she sent them here. There are no grave stones as I checked that several years ago. Bill Foy

|George Foy||RE: Mary Foy Black|
No, I don't have Mary's obituary. The only person who might have it is Mary's brother John William Foy's son, William G. Foy. Bill is 87 years old but is still of sound mind. I will contact him to see if he has the obituary.
|Jerry||Photo Request - Blanche Miroglo|
I believe the last name to be "Miroglio" as I find the following information for a Blanche Miroglio:
California Death Index, 1940-1997
Name: Blanche Myrtle Miroglio
Social Security #: 520102945
Birth Date: 14 Aug 1904
Death Date: 26 Aug 1985
Death Place: Lake
Mother's Maiden Name: Foy
Father's Surname: Black
Social Security Death Index

U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 1
Name: Blanche Miroglio
Address: PO Box 1166, Lower Lake, CA, 95457-1166 (1986)
[6215 Old Highway 53, Clearlake, CA, 95422-9388]
[PO Box 4007, Clearlake, CA, 95422-4007 (1985)]
Also, there is an Albert Miroglio, b. 16 Nov 1911, d. 4 Sep 1964 in Contra Costa Co., CA (whose mother's surname was Marello) listed in the California Death Index.
I went through all the burial listings for the Cheyenne cemeteries and did not find Blanche in any of them. We went to Lakeview again today and checked to see if she is buried with her first husband (Thomas Wixtead) in Lot 1918. There is no grave marker for her in that location or the immediate area.
Do you have any specific info that she is actually buried in Lakeview? It is a very old cemetery and I have found many marked graves that are not on the cemetery's digital records.
