FIRST: ALL OF MY PICS ARE HERE TO SHARE WITH YOU!!!! THESE ARE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND YOU SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO THEM!!! I FEEL BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO HELP YOU IN YOUR SEARCH. |
When my paternal Grandfather died I realized there were so many questions I had about his family. He and his siblings were taken from his abusive, alcoholic parents when he was just a small boy. I wanted to know more about these people. I got just so far back and got stuck. I went the route of head stones hoping that maybe I could get a small clue there to get me back one more generation. No such luck. But, I gained a new obsession. I love the heastones. The way you can take headstones and research them and put families together, go to another website and sometimes find an obituary from 80 years ago. I pick a cemetery and make it my own. I have started a cemetery that had a list of 200 souls and finished with 600 souls. That is 400 family members that someone now has the ability to find. That is amazing to me that I can be part of putting a family together 100 years later. I will do requests but I much prefer taking on a whole cemetery and just doing the whole thing.

Thank you so much for connecting Samantha Wilcox to her parents. It is appreicated.
Even though her parents did spell their name with the second "e", she did not spell her maiden name with the second "e". Her brother also dropped the second "e" as well from his name. But it gets even more confusing because some of the descendants of her brother, Delos, have added the "e" back to their name after dropping it for 3 generations.

I was happy to help, Diane. And he's in good company - my dad's just a few feet away.
|Marie Hayes||B. Woodhull|
I have tried to find a month date of his death. I have been unable to locate one. In the Woodhull genealogy, it just gives the year!
Diane, (Spelled your name correctly this time, sorry), Again I do appreciate the enthusiasm you expound upon in your profile. 15 years and counting for me too and I love every day of the research. Ron

Mrs. Lunette Van Tassell, Geneva, listed in the will as a friend, but said to have been a first cousin of Mrs. Dennis.
Brother of Mrs. Dennis Died in Poorhouse, Will Trial Question Reveals
Other than to indicate the brother, Daniel Ackerman, who was to have received under Mrs. Dennis' last will $2,000 and a $25 a month annuity, predeceased his sister, the cross-examiner, Mrs. Alean B. Clutts, did not elaborate on the poor relation angle. The brother, it was reported last night by members of contestant's families, died in the Wayne County Home, Lyons, in 1934.
Contestants, who today will open their evidence, claim Mrs. Dennis was not competent when she made the documents they attack. They also allege undue influence was exerted on her by MacFarlane and Mrs. Lunette Van Tassell, Geneva, listed in the will as a friend, but said to have been a first cousin of Mrs. Dennis. Mrs. Van Tassell was to get $5,000 under the will and her daughter was to get $10,000.
