Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Oregon with my wife Loretta to whom I have been married to since 1978. My interest in genealogy started about 6 years ago and I am tracing my family tree. My great grandmother, Delia McNeal was a pioneer and a genealogist. It is important to honor those in your family from the past so they will not be forgotten.

Greetings,

The pixel count of this image is so so small that my old eyes cannot read most of what is written in the image.

It is very important that I'm able to read it. Please, help me by changing the pixel count or having someone else change it for you. Your efforts to post images is greatly appreciated and greatly needed. I use a FREE photo program supplied by Google. It is called, Picasa 3. I have used it for about 5-6 years. I gave up on other programs that I had to purchase. Never could figure them out.

Find A Grave now excepts images up to 8 mega pixel. 100,000 pixel would be much better than what is posted. Normally, when you click on the image it will grow in size to allow it to be read. The posted image does not expand in size. Reason: too small and image.

I hope that you are able to rescue this image that you took and download it in a larger size so it can be read. I use 1-5 mega pixel images for Find A Grave. They really make a big, big, big difference.

Best wishes and my hardy thanks, Martin Burrell

Sherman & May Lyster Reedsport
Greetings, 01/28/2015

For an example of a large pixel count image go to Sherman Lyster's wife, May, middle name May Lyster at Reedsport, Douglas County. Double click 'twice' on her Oregon Death Certificate and then use several single clicks. This image is worth copying to another device and used in family genealogy. I am not using a fancy camera to make these images. This image was made using a copier at the Oregon State Archives in Salem, Oregon.

Why is the pixel count of some of your images so small that they can't be read? To tell you the truth a couple of them are worth very little to the people that need to read them and they most definitely need to be replaced. This could still be done if you took larger pixel count images and then reduced the image quality. My image program is able shrink the pixel count. But, finger nail size images are a bad idea for public viewing.

Find A Grave now takes images up to 5 mega pixel. With that size image you can blow it up, up, up to about 10"X10". What a difference it makes! The same can be done with most any digital camera and some good phone cameras.

Anything under 2 mega pixel is loosing quality of detail recognition and depth of field that could be helpful; especially when one is older and has eye sight that is just as old as mine.

A very good photo program that is FREE to download from the web is under license by Google. It is called, 'Picasa 3'. I have used it for five years with no real problems. It is and open source program that could change the way people all over the world produce good photos and make it fun at the same time.

I wrote with the hope that the reader can better understand how to make great images that will bring pleasure to ones work.

Sincerely, Martin S. Burrell

Bernard Giffin 22333482
Hello Bill,
It looks like there is a "duplicate" memorial For Bernard Giffin in Lincoln Memorial Park. The gravestone is the same on both memorial pages.

One memorial page for him shows the surname spelled Giffin and the other shows surname spelled Giffen. The one with the surname spelled Giffen is memorial page 33358955.

Both of these memorials were created by you, one in Oct. 21, 2007 and the other Jan. 28, 2009. You probably forgot you had already created one. Since you created both of them, you might want to delete one of them, probably the one spelled Giffen. One shows he was born in Hood River and the other in Nova Scotia, Canada. The middle initial on the gravestone is an A. One of the memorial pages does not have an initial and the other has the middle name of Ashton.

Sincerely,
Jan Fenter

Stark and Martha Shelton
Hi Bill, thank you for letting me know you transferred them to the correct cemetery. Yes, there are a lot of Shelton Cemeteries in Madison County. It even makes it harder when some are known by different names. The Shelton family can be very hard to research at times.
Thanks again,
Sue

Hi Bill, thank you for your message and it is very nice to meet you. I added Texie's parents to her page. Thank you for your work to link this family together. If you are related or knew Texie, I would be glad to transfer her page to you. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks again and take care.

Sincerely, Vickie

RE: Norton graves in Clark / Clarks Cemetery
Thank you so much !! I really appreciate it !

I'm glad we can now upload larger photos to the site. I usually do 900x1200 dpi's but now can go bigger if I need.

Katherine Lewis Norton is the daughter of Theodore Lewis (my 3rd cousin 2x removed through his mother's Buckner line AND my 2nd cousins 4x removed through his father's Lewis line) and Daisy Rice Lewis, who was a sister to my great grandmother Hester Rice Burrell, making her my 2nd great grand aunt. Theodore and Daisy were 2nd cousins 1x removed to each other, and it's too complicated to get into to tell you all the ways their children and grandchildren are related to me ;) It is a VERY small world to say the least !!

Have a great day !

Norton graves in Clark / Clarks Cemetery
Hi Bill, I'm looking at the photo you have of Lee Daniel Ledford's grave in Clarks Cemetery and am trying to see if that's the grave of Henry A & Pauline Lewis Norton (a cousin of mine) behind it ?

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=28584705&PIpi=11974336

The resolution of the photo is too small for me to blow up and tell, but I was wondering if you still had access to it and could look to see if that's who's graves they are?

I have her obit and am going to go ahead and make the memorial for her from it but I always like to verify from another source if possible.

thanks, Karyn
