Hi, I'm Katie! I live in Lyons, Oregon. I love everything history related, especially old cemeteries, houses, barns, books and photos.|
I work full-time and am stepmom of a teen and tween as well as mommy to a feisty toddler. Please be patient with me! I will get to edits as soon as I can, but am unfortunately not able to process them every day.
My own family names includes the surnames Baptiste, Reid, Bennett, Bales, Fiester, Densford, and Hampton. I am also researching my husband and children's lines, including the surnames Garrison, Follis, Kirsch, Phillips, Mitchell, and Imlah.
I collect antique photographs, particularly those with names on them, and try to match them up with other researchers on Find a Grave or Ancestry.com. It's so much fun to unexpectedly add something to someone else's search and I hope someday karma will return the favor!
On memorials I manage, if myself or my son (Reid) are related I have stated our relationship in the notes section. I would be happy to transfer all others to a member of their family. Please request the transfer through the edit tab and state your relation.
If I add information to a non-related claim, I state my source. If no source is given, info is from edits from other contributors. Any and all information that I have is already listed on the memorial.
Please feel free to use any gravestone photos that I have posted for your personal genealogical use.

|Devastated Land Owner in NEMO.||Another transfer please.|
Could you also transfer the memorial for Glenn W. Harvey #119186992 to me. He is another relative of my husbands. Apparently he was adopted which makes links very difficult. Hoping you will transfer his memorial to me so I can link him to both his biological parents and his adoptive father. Thanks for creating his memorial and for considering my request for a transfer. My contributor number is: 47142793.
|Devastated Land Owner in NEMO.||Transfer please.|
I cannot send "other" edits since I have sent out so many that Find A Grave's system thinks I am a robot so I hope you won't mind me leaving a transfer request here. Would you consider transfering the memorial for Seba L. Harvey #119187642 to me. She was married to my husband's great uncle and I have more info., links etc. that I would love to add to her memorial. Hope to hear from you soon. My contributor numer is #47142793.

I apologize for a typo that I sent you for an edit. I erroneously made Perry his own spouse. I've since sent a corrected edit. Sorry for the confusion.

The 1930 census shows Twila Mae Butterfield being born in 1929, which is what my records show.....
Hi Katie, I found some docs for Ray G Morgan. I've updated his DOB info. He was born in PA.

Today I went out to the old cemetery in search of Charles and a few others. But, as you know the temperatures here in Oregon have skyrocketed into the 100's. . . especially here in Southern Oregon! Before heat exhaustion set in I was prepared to call it quits when an elderly masonic WW2 veteran (I assumed this by his hat with many war medals pinned to it and his ancient antique masonic pinky ring) came up to me and we talked for a bit. When I explained that I was a catetaker at another local cemetery and in my spare time I do what I can to help those folks on find a grave locate a certain person. . . he just smiled and said I may be in luck. He stated that he was an elder in the local masonic temple and one of his duties was record keeping. . . Especially cemetery records. I am to meet him at his temple in the morning to pour over the old records. . .and, he assured me that anyone ever buried there: is in his old book! Wish me luck. . I'll do my best.

You know what's funny? About 20 minutes ago, out of the blue, I thought of you! Honestly! I was thinking that you must be very busy and that the next time I was on findagrave I should send another note. Weird. Thank you so much, Katie. I am delighted to have them!

I just linked Ora John Taft (156013590) to his parents and spouse Goldie. I know it says "William H Taft" on his memorial, but I promise it's the same guy as the "Sherman W Taft" mentioned in the death cert record as Ora's dad. I think the death cert record is a typo, as William's middle name was Herman. Just letting you know I'm not going crazy, that really is his dad! :)
